But who says they are really built that much better?
Apples marketing handbook?

@monkeyfun14
No, anyone with an eye, that can read, If you don't believe what you read, then pick them up and look at them for yourself. Compare a Dell, Gateway, HP, Toshiba, etc to a Macintosh, and you'll see what I mean. It's all relative.

The survey wasn't about the quality of the product, it was about the customer satisfaction when something went wrong with the product. NOT one and the same.

@seaspray
maybe
but still apple has yet again proven itself
you don't hear other companies being praised for quality do you
also there's the fact that people still buy and use 9 yr old powerbooks

I personally believe that Apple's quality comes from the fact that they have a very clean and trim product line-up easy to maintain quality that way

there's also the fact that cracks in the 2006 white Macbooks became news
even a simple defect like that ,Compare that to dell and Hps problems
just further proves that Apple leads in quality

and then there's the operating system which is so far ahead of Windows on the quality front it's not even comparable !

Frankly I'm not impressed with any computer company that can only muster a good rating or less. Why would anyone be bragging about that. I"m talking about all the companies mentioned.

What the article is saying is that basically no one is completely happy with either windows or mac... i mean 80% isn't exactly something to be ecstaticc about either oO

It seems that in the world of tech you simply can't be 100% happy about a product ... no matter how great it is :l

@kroot
read it
its not about the product, its about the quality of Tech support

So with all the flaming and arguing, it comes down to the fact that people like their Macs better than people like their PCs. Simple. Stop making it complicated. It doesn't matter if you like your PC, if you like Windows, if you've never had a virus with Windows, and quite a lot of other things people say here. It all comes down to the fact that people are happier with their Macs.

the survey is about the tech support they received when something went horribly wrong with their computer
not the computer itself

Might be time for Microsoft to revise their Mac Tax yet again. Face it, though MS isn't a PC manufacturer, most calls to PC desks are about Windows.

Look up the definition of "PC". A Mac is a "PC".

Number one reason why people with Mac problems don't get it fixed - It's much more expensive or the "MAC experts" will tell them that it can't be fixed.

If Mac was so great, they wouldn't have needed to change their processors to Intel chips. They also are trying to strike a deal with ATI to change their poor gaming graphics ability.

Macs are great for visual production! If that's what you need then I recommend them highly!

If you need to surf the internet and do work related stuff, you can get any other brand for as low as $300.

If you need to game, still can't beat the flexibility and power of custom PC's!

Think about it.....Are you gonna buy a Lexus van just to bring your kids to soccer practice? If you have the money then probably, but if you're like every other middle to low class person then probably not!
