Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.
At the start of the 21st century, there's no tech outfit more influential than Apple. CNET News' Erica Ogg and other reporters will attempt to make sense of the rumors, hype, products, and people that will shape the future of the company. But Apple's not the only game in town, as the established cell phone companies and others strike back against the iPhone. E-mail Erica at erica.ogg@cnet.com.

I've seen it previewing with the whiteboard app.
Smartphone users need something like the Pre, if for no other reason than to continue to drive innovation.
What does he suggest; Telepathy?
iPhone will NEVER reach it's full potentials in the US unless we have the kind of network that's been available in the EU & Japan for ages. US is still superior in the outdated technology aka Landline network BUT way behind when it comes to Mobile network.
There's a reason why Apple finally went with AT&T and I am not saying because it has a good network, which we all know AT&T SUCKS but the main reason is... unlike VZW or Sprint, there are only 2 networks available nationwide which are on GSM (standard Mobile technology used worldwide) - AT&T and T-Mobile.
Getting a phone on GSM network means only working on 1 technology to launch the phone worldwide regardless of which carrier provides it - which translates to less development cost.
Take any CDMA phone to EU and they will just throw it away even if you give it for FREE.
Bottom line, thanks to the GSM network and a large customer base, AT&T will ALWAYS have an edge over VZW when it comes to phones
*gush*
I agree with German: "I'd like to see one umbrella push system for all linked e-mail accounts. The functionality seems to be a bit scattered as they're currently describing it."
Apple will continue to play catchup to the Blackberry Storm and fail in doing so
yes because iPhone is a Fledgling Device, Think of the Problems both of our companys (BB and Palm) faced when they first started (BB had an advantage b/c of it's bacvkground in Email, and palm had a leg up b/c of PDA just as the iPhone was a ready made MediaPlayer immedatly (which you BB users are just now getting)
and now they r adding a appstore too sounds awfully familiar to me !
so who's catching up again ?

- i'm still confused on the maps feature... there's a picture of a legit-looking GPS, is that apple's map app, or a 3rd party already for sale?
