Comments on: Mac OS X Snow Leopard screenshots leaked

Apple's next version of Mac OS X is expected to focus on nuts-and-bolts improvements over fancy features, and leaked screenshots support that theory.

People will hardly upgrade cos this time osx has almost nothing to campell people to upgrade. we all know the bad economy and people dont even complain that their mac is slow it crashes 1 or 2 a month due to the manner of use but it still works fine. This one is milking machine

yuk it still has that same ugly brown interface (Dialog box) and am sure as usual it can't be changed unlike Vista and Seven, I can choose which ever color I want :)

Given the brief for the new OS, screenshots of it do not interest me. What I want to see are benchmarks to see if it is making good on the promises of speed, stability and security.

it's not released yet, so we'll be getting a very selective set of screenies from the developers.

What on Earth are you talking about? OS X looks light-years ahead of Windows 7 and Vista.

Now now beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I don't get it. When Windows 7 is demoed all people can cry about is that it's Vista 2.0 and etc. When Apple comes out with YET ANOTHER tweak edition of OS X, it's hats off to Apple for making improvements on the back end. Keep on drinkin' that kool-aid.

If you will look at my comments about Vista and 7, you will see that I have been stating that I don't care about new features, I want a smaller footprint and I want my OS to eat fewer clock cycles. I don't care about the UI. Most of my computers don't have a screen or a keyboard. If I need to edit a config file I SSH in and use VI. (Or I FTP in, copy the file to one of my Macs, edit the file, then FTP it back into place.)

Like most Mac users, I could care less about animated dancing flower wallpaper.

ralf, exactly what has been done in 7. Smaller footprint in CPU and Resources. So you are saying that 7 is good then?

It is still a hog, just less of a hog.

sanenazok: maybe it's true. maybe not, but JUST MAYBE it could actually be true.

Funny, troll, I could have sworn right-clicking was possible on Mac OS X. I'll assume you've never used a Mac. Maybe when you graduate high school you can get a job at a popular fast food change and scrape together enough money to buy a used Mac and try before you whine/appear ignorant.

I'll buy it when it comes out. Just like I'll buy three copies of Windows 7 64 Bit when it's released. Win 7 is a nice bump from Vista and Apple's OS's are easy to use and stable too. I even like my UBUNTU 64 bit and have it on two computers. You people can try to pick the fly s*h*i*t out of the pepper all day long but all of these OS's are getting better and easier to use as time goes on. It's all good for me,....I use them all.

realneil, Great attitide to have. I commend you on something so refreshing in the middle of an OS slam fest.

Crashpad63, I do use them all,...and over time they keep getting better due to the healthy competition from the 'other guys'. It's a win win situation for us.
Win 7 was a pleasant surprise. I loaded it onto a 'Vista Ready' dual core laptop that struggled with Vista, even after I doubled the memory to 2GB. The result is a snappy and full featured, fun to use gem. My wife used it one day after the OS switch and kept it. She couldn't stand to use it with Vista installed. So I have/she has the normal use of a $750.00 laptop now, something that I didn't have before Win 7 beta came out.
Allot of these posters are passionate about their OS of choice and that's OK, It's like the great Ford/Chevy debate. Everyone finds their comfort zone and usually sticks to it. I like to read the flames sometimes,...these guys are original. Heh-Heh!

Puma was the code name for Mac OS X 10.1. Go back into your cave, troll.

It never ceases to amaze me that whenever there is an Apple story, the Micro$oft trolls come out in droves. Why do they care? If their precious Vista is so great, then why do they even care what Apple is doing? I can only imagine that is jealousy or a system that actually works and works well. You don't see a bunch of Mac OS users posting crap on stories about Windows or Micro$oft. Not in the disproportionate numbers you see in Apple stories.

Quick time pro is different to just the average quicktime for mac and windows. It has tones of extra features that you would usually have to pay for so it is cool that it comes for free.

Still looks like it's full of the same old FAIL as that last one...The same FAIL look that it took from OS9.
Thanks, try again.
Any of you blind Mac users, ever try anything before OSX???
It's awful.. and this is the same OS they have been choking on for a few years being released again...
Recycle, regurgitate, re-use.
The iPhone, and iPod are the only things keeping this FAIL company afloat.
