Comments on: Apple planning dual-core and quad-core iMacs?

It's getting more likely that an iMac refresh is within sight, and Apple may have plans to use both dual-core and quad-core chips in the new systems.

The point you guys are arguing is kinda moot isn't it? I purchase Macintosh systems because I want to run the Mac OS. I also have a latest 'n greatest PC. The PC is a power monger consuming energy at levels the USS Enterprise would shudder at. If I want to game, I boot up the bloated MS OS on the PC and play on this bohemouth. If I want a cool 'n quiet machine to do my every-day tasks on, it's the Mac. So it just depends on what you want to do. There are some things a Mac is the choice for, and there are some things Microsoft is the choice for, and there are some things Linux is the choice for. I like Mac as a general OS, MS for server OS, and Linux for web server. Its not a question of "who's better," but rather "what do YOU want to run?"

Guys on this board.....relax!!!!!!!! Apple is based on the average person!!!!! Most people out of the computer biz would have the "deer in headlights" look if you said I have an i7. Apple makes computer that are simple......yet powerful on a "regular person level". Having the little pleasures in life?..like music, photos and cutting together a family video is what most people want out of their Macs. If you?re a video professional you will seek out the best products to make your masterpiece. Yes, I agree Apple charges way too much for their product...........but it's easy to use and that?s what you pay for. For some people PC's take a lot of time and understanding to be comfortable with. Apple makes computers that have a limited configuration.....because most of their customers won't know how to upgrade them anyway.
