I think maybe the downturn affected Apple first, since most of Apple sales are to home users. People respond faster than businesses. The Fortune 500 are all busily slashing their budgets for 2009 (including computers), which should impact HP, Dell, etc next year. When that happens, I predict Apple may recover some of the market-share ground they just lost. Guess we'll see.

I have a mac and love it. My husband and daughter are going to get one too. Yeah I got them hooked on them. I don't see any reason to worry about Apple it seems like everyone is losing sales at the moment. As for them not to come out with anything new, huh do we need anything new? Does Apple always have to make a splash when they come out with a new product? I think that MacAir is overpriced for what you get. Just give me a 15" macbook and that should do me just fine.
People can put down macs all they want but to me they are the best and they are worth the money. I have suggested to numerous non savvy computer operator wannabes to get a mac. You have less problems than with a HP, Dell etc.
I have had my imac for 2 years now and have only had about 3 kernel panics since then. When I had my windows pc I constantly had problems. So stating this an apple product is worth its weight in gold.
