Comments on: Sarah Palin Wikipedia edits--fast and furious

There's nothing like the vice presidential nomination of a relatively unknown (and female) governor to push the Wikipedia edit machine into high gear.

@humanssssss : :"To Palin who lack quantum mechanic education should read up on the idea of quantum entanglement"

How much quantum mechanics does Obambi know?
Obambi doesn't even know how many states this country his, how can he stand for President of this country?
A guy that claims there are 57 states in America, has no business running for President.

Going back to the main point of the story: wikipedia isn't very useful as a source. The final edits are being done by some kid for all we know and the editor in charge is also equally as anonymous. I only use wikipedia to look up plot details on tv shows. Even that's often misspelled.

You are right of course.
Wikipedia is the most stupid, unrelianle source of information on any Republican politician one can ever use. Wikipedia was founded by the leftwing loonies and the gay mafia, and its still run by the left wing loons and the gay mafia to furher their own political agenda, which runs counter to what most Americans want. I avoid Wikipedia like the plague.

@Kwasiowusu

Let's put some numbers so we have a better understanding than using qualifiers that can easily be misinterpreted. Alaska has 640,000 people according to the US Census Bureau. The reference to this is pretty accurate as far as we know today. US Census Bureau also states the United States has 301M people. California has 36.5M people.

The mis-characterization part is that she is a governor of a state with the closest to the smallest population. To put this into perspective, if you don't have that many people to govern, being a governor doesn't do much. If put this further in perspective, the people per square mile will put the population density into rural area statistic. This is like saying an 18 years old high school student can be elected to be mayor of a town of 3,200 people. The significance of Palin as governor of Alaska is insignificant compare to the other 50 states who's population density is far greater.

I don't doubt Palin is a good mother. She has 5 kids. But for her to run office when her views are so distance from mainstream Americans and the competitiveness we need in a leader with today's hypercompetitive economic environment, we cannot based on wishful thinking to put in power a VP who lack sound scientific judgment in the environment, economy, and education.

The more she talks about Creationism, the more she loses credibility amongst Americans who use science on a daily basis to create many wonderful things to improve lifes of their fellow citizens.

Should we list scientists/inventors who are/were creationists?? There are different shades of meaning for the word "create". Scientists design many nice things that are convenient, and for that they deserve respect, but creationists believe God created everything from nothing. (Which implies much more respect...)

There have been numerous inventors and scientists who were creationists. Should this diminish their scientific achievements? Does this mean that the laws of physics that they "discovered" (or better described in a systematic way) are no longer valid?

I would hope modern scientists are still seekers of truth at their core. If they are authentic then elitist arrogance should not blind them to the truth.

humanssssss -- I can only assume by your comments that you are not a native speaker of English. I could be wrong, it's quite possible that you spent all the time and effort that could have been placed in your English studies focusing on "quantum mechanic", but I find it difficult to respect your opinion on Palin's lack of education when many of your sentences barely meet the minimum qualifications for being considered successful communication.

Creationists have access to the exact same evidence that evolutionists use. The difference lies in the interpretation of that evidence. Interpretation is determined by a person's worldview. In a court of law, objective truth matters less than the opinions of the people paying the lawyers. Similar mechanics drive the world of science. Stubbornly denying the any other explanation aside from the one to which you so desperately cling doesn't make you more educated than Creationists like Palin, it makes you exactly like Palin.

Of course, if you are a product of the United States Public School System, I see your point on education. We desperately need to do something to train our nation's children in avoiding simple errors in grammar.

To all others on this board that make misteaks ( <= ha! ), I'm not appointing myself Chief of the Grammar Police, I'm merely pointing out that people standing in educationally vacant glass houses shouldn't metaphorically throw stones. In fact, don't throw stones at all. It's not nice.

@studean

The fact that you negate a person's writing shows the lack of intelligence because you criticize without providing specific examples and correcting what is wrong. Rather you mention only that it is wrong. This is the mentality of the weak who's main argument is not to attack the righteous of the right but rather the wrong of the wrong. Meaning, you are focusing on the characterization of the words rather than the facts and context in which it is said.

Apparently you have not read the Creationists point of view to understand how their views are constructed. They present like many of the evidence to negate evolutionists. They don't present evidence to support their claims. This is the same way you are attacking and argument. You attack the argument of negating the fact. That's the problem with an argument of fact. You cannot attack something that does not exist because for there's any attack to be done, you need something.

That's the problem with the logic of how people like to argue and at times I find them running in logical cycles that drive them no way. For the brain of the weak, they always cling on what is not, instead of what is.

My advice, use what is observable to find the unobservable. Creationists fail in this because they haven't construct a proper lineage of the past to give rise to their view. Instead of even engaging them in science, it should be classified as religion.

Even if Alaska had just 100,000 people, that would have been 100,00o more people that Gov Sarah Palin has actually governed more than Obama has.
Obambi hasn't even run a VILLAGE in his entire life. He has ZERO executive experience as far as running any village, town, city or state in this country. Over the past 24 years, nearly all our presidents have been Governors, apart from President Bush senior who was a VP for 8 years before becoming presdent.
Sarah Palin has far more executive expereince than Obambi and "Neil Kinnock" Joe Biden combined. Obambi is the least experienced candidate for president this country has ever seen. Even the hapless Jimmy Carter was Governor before he became president, so was Bill Clinton.

This bears repeating:

Governor Sarah Palin has governed a state, vetoed legislation, she's taken on corruption, and in her party, and won. She took on the oil companies and won. She administered a budget successfully.

Obama on the other hand, is the least experienced candidate for president in the last 100 years.
The guy's never run a city, he's never run a state, he's never run a business, he's never administered a payroll, he's never led a mass of people in crisis ( and no, "community organiser" don't count).
And to top it all, Obama's poltical career was launched in the home of the biggest domestic terrorist this country has ever known, the notorious, totally unrepentant Bill Ayers of Weather Underground fame.
Thanks, but no, thanks.

So Obama selects Biden to counter the "experience" issue and McCain selects Pilan to counter the "he's not a conservative" issue. Truth is the VP doesn't set policy, doesn't introduce legislation, doesn't do much of anything except cast a tie breaking vote in the Senate now and then. Who are Obama and McCain trying to kid here? Yep, you guessed it, they're trying to influence the stupid ones.

Bottom line is that it's apparently a real race now. Early on it was assumed that the Democratic nominee would become president by acclamation of the electorate. Well so much for that little assumption, eh.

lkrupp : "Truth is the VP doesn't set policy, doesn't introduce legislation, doesn't do much of anything except cast a tie breaking vote in the Senate now and then"

Try telling that to Dick Cheney.
He's done a heck of a lot more than "doesn't do much of anything" as Vice President.

Joe Biden agrees with you.
According to good ole Joe Biden, Obama is " the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,"

No sane, normal, patriotic American reads Huff Post. I'll leave that to left wing loons like yourself.
My post was in direct response to what you posted on here.
BTW, if you Democrats wanto to open a conversation about pregnancies and all that, we'll be quite happy to ablige you guys..starting with how Obama's mother, Ann Durham, was already 3 months pregnant before his Kenyan father bothered to "marry her", even while at the same time he already had another wife in Kenya.
So please, put the noose in your own necks, and bring that kind of talk on.

Seriously dude. Could you sound any more insane? Calling Barack Obama "Obami or Omabi" is something you do on the schoolground. Are you 8 or something?

Hopefully, no one in their right mind reads anything anymore without challenging the source and the origin. Your references of YouTube (posted by anyone with a camcorder) and the NY Post (a VERY conservative news paper) just points out that your source is highly biased as well.

I have a request for you all out there. Just let this person post his/her ramblings and move on to the next topic. This is a technical website after all. Not a political one and clearly you people arent going to change anyone's minds or hearts here on News.com.

Goan!
Yet another leftwing loon crawls out from under a rock to spew.
Hey, if you want to see insane, I suggest you go join your fellow Obambi goons and smear merchants at Daily Kos and Democratic Underground, who have been sounduing even more deranged and insane than usual, in their zombie like, hatefilled franzy over Governor Palin.

I live in new York, and i'll take anyhthing in the New York Post over any propaganda that the MSM feeds us. The New York Post, is a much better newspaper, and is more fair and balanced, than the Obambi MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, New York Times, Washignton Post, which have thrown all journalistic intergrity/principles aside, and have instead turned into 24/7 propaganda outlets for the Obambi campaign.

@ CTO-Dude : "This is a technical website after all. Not a political one and clearly you people arent going to change anyone's minds or hearts here on News.com. "

You will notice that it was CNEtTthat decided to start posting Obambi propagana from their overlords at CBS at the start of the Democratic convention last week, over the objections of lots of us on this site, who pleaded that CNET stop this, because this is a technical site, not a political one.
On the othet hand, since CNET decided to continue posting Obambi propaganada here, and the left wing loons from Kos and DU decided to come post their usual hate-filled rants against Givernor Palinon this site, we have no altertantive but to hit back at these guys.
