As soon as the new Democratic majority passes the "Fairness Doctrine" there will be renewed demand for commercially non-viable liberal content and all these folks will be back at work. Think of it as welfare for the liberal middle-class.

As a hopefully objective view from the other side of the pond, my thoughts follow:
It is disgusting to see snide remarks passed on unfortunate workers who have lost their jobs.
Sure the employees are bitter, they have the right to be. Sure the employers did not foresee a few months back the depth ot the problems to be faced now. It seems that the entire world is entering recession, Germany has joined the list today.
But if an organisation takes action to try to protect itself and this involves layoffs, it is tough but understandable.
As far as the attacks on Al Gore are concerned they smack of sour grapes. He has done much to raise worldwide awareness of climate change. Is he perfect? Show me someone who is!
So who caused the recession? If you are a Democrat it was the Republicans. If you are a Republican then it was the Democrats. If you are in a sinking ship don't look for the captain, look for a lifeboat.

Big Al should go for some bailout money. The poor guy needs his money to fly all over the world in his carbon spewing private jets to tell us to all go back to living in caves, lest we should make the oceans boil or whatever he claimed in his lie riddled movie.

Hey Al, maybe you should practice what you preach...

The level of discourse here is... amazing. CNET could use a comment moderation system.

I think I'll go back to Slashdot.

It must have cost him a fortune to bail out his pot-head son after he got caught speeding in his Toyota Priapism.

More layoffs. $@%^#!

I've been covering the Google, Oracle and Pfizer on The Daily Anchor, and as a follow up today I wrote an article on tips for finding a job in a recession. Don't get me wrong, there's no magic trick for finding a job right now, but there are some things you can do to at least increase your chances of finding an opportunity and landing an interview...

Why can't we offer Al Gore in trade for Laura Ling and Euna Lee? That idiot placed those reporters in harms way without a single thought of their safety. If Gore was a man, he would arrainge this swap.

Then, while he is there, he could explain to Kim Jung mentally ill how his country is causing global warming. He wouldn't even need prison space, he could be placed under house arrest in his SUV on high idle. What an idiot.
