It's high time for a walk on the real side
Let's admit the bastards beat us
I move to dissolve the corporation
In a pool of margaritas
So let's switch off all the lights
And light up all the Luckies
Crankin' up the afterglow
'Cause we're goin' out of business
Everything must go

Talk about your major pain and suffering
Now our self-esteem is shattered
Show the world our mighty hidey-ho face
As we go sliding down the ladder
It was sweet up at the top
'Til that ill wind started blowing
Now it's cozy down below
'Cause we're goin' out of business
Everything must go

We gave it our best shot
But keep in mind we got a lot
The sky the moon good food and the weather
First-run movies -- does anybody get lucky twice?
Wouldn't it be nice...

Tell me can you dig it Miss Fugazy
Now it's gone from late to later
Frankly I could use a little face time
In the service elevator
And if Dave from Acquisitions
Wants to get in on the action
With his Handicam in tow
Well we're goin' out of business
Everything must go

Can it be the sorry sun is rising
Guess it's time for us to book it
Talk about the famous road not taken
In the end we never took it
And if somewhere on the way
We got a few good licks in
No one's ever gonna know
'Cause we're goin' out of business
Everything must go

LOL.. Liberals can not be successful in the buisness world. It goes against their own ideology. Wether its Air America or Current TV they will ultimately fail. Liberalism = Socialism = Anti-Capitalism. How can you not see this? If you want to be successful as a liberal buisness you need to hire conversatives, pay them alot of money, and let them run your liberal buisness while you maintain control of the decision making. This plan would be successful. Liberals are losers and will destroy any company they get their hands on. Look at the newspaper industry!! They are sinking faster than the Titanic and its basically because of the liberal product they create. No one wants to buy it. They blame the internet for sales declining but that is only an excuse.

Oh I forgot the CAR INDUSTRY. The liberals have destroyed that also. They put into place the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and it is single handedly destroyed the car industry because they want too much from these car companies. So what do these car companies do? They move there factories down south into states like Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida where the UAW isnt by law allowed to exist. Or they move their factories overseas. THE ONLY PEOPLE YOU HAVE TO THANK FOR THIS IS DEMOCRATS!! Losers!!

I once watched this station for a few days here and there just to see what crap Al Gore was putting out. It was the single most useless, boring and moronic thing I have ever watched. Even my dogs were bored. So why is it surprising that it failed? It is because Liberals are some of the stupidest people with degrees in the world! I guess Al needed the money for his mansion and his lear jet that he flies around in. Al Gore is the biggest hypocrite in the world...soon to be matched or even surpassed by Obama.

I realize I'm probably not as clever as you, but I'm okay with that.

I have read all the comments here and I have to say as a former employee who was dedicated and logged 12 hour days for the last 2 years and was shocked to not have a job yesterday, I think you are all missing a key point. You don't have to love Current's programming or Al Gore or believe in anything the media says, but there is a human side to this story. Most of us were not there for the money, in fact I'm one paycheck away from have $0 in my bank account and nothing in savings, but we were there to empower producers and we did just that. Current may succeed or fail, but for that time in the last 3 years people from all over the world came to Current to give their story a voice. The user generated movement is just beginning and it won't stop at Current's failure.

Finally, both McCain and Obama spoke on Nov. 4th of a world where we need to unite together, not rip each other apart. If we can't achieve that on a simple forum we can't achieve it on a national scale. So what I'm asking to all you readers who hate Al Gore and Current and don't feel bad for the former employees is to look around at yourself, your neighbors, your country--everyone is getting laid off whether it's Detroit, Hollywood or Silicone valley. We all have mouths to feed and lives to lead, so show some compassion.

Ok, I'm done. I'm going to go look for a job now :)

I'm sorry for the loss of your job but you noted something all too common: "Most of us were not there for the money, in fact I'm one paycheck away from have $0 in my bank account and nothing in savings, but we were there to empower producers and we did just that."

It's nice to do what you love and are passionate about but you need to support yourself. Think. What did you do with the money you saved by living over the store or riding your bike to work. How can an adult be so foolish as to have $0 in the bank and nothing in savings? My G*d, I'd eat hamburger helper, helper, helper to save a cushion of cash for an event like this. Wake up and get going. Change your ways and certainly DO NOT wait for a handout. Unemployment is a "safety net" - not a hammock. It's limited as to time as well.

We'll get Obamania out of our system just like we did with Jimmy Carter and then this country will be back on track to move forward to create a level playing field for all without "entitlements", etc for the few who whine loudest.

What do you expect from a hypocrite like Gore. He has a mansion in Tennessee that public records show that he is using 213,000kwH of electricity each month. That is enough energy to power 232 average size U.S. homes each month!!! This baffoon is the biggest snake oil salesman of the last century and should be put in prison.

That's BS. 213000 kWh would be 300 kilowatts of electricity every moment, night or day. That would be 3000 lightbulbs, each 100 W, or 5000 of 60W ones.

formerCurrent: That's the spirit! At least you were smart enough not to trust uncle Al.

You sacrificed not for filthy lucre but for the enrichment of all mankind and I'm sure there are those who appreciate the great gift you have given them (even if they're not sure what it was).

I wouldn't wish something like this even on a liberal, and it is my sincere hope that your new fuehrer is not successfull in strangling all business opportunities with his oppressive taxes and onerous regulations. If he does crush capital under his bootheel, there will only be the government left to work for and there are already plenty of Democrats in place to suck up the power jobs leaving only the low paying menial jobs for those who come to the well last.

You may be different though, you end with "I'm going to go look for a job now" which is GREAT because I'll bet that your gonna be a little more careful about who it is you work for and with the experience you have gained while serving mankind, you will probably have something to offer a prospective employer other than blind allegiance. Your positive attitude will serve you well in your quest.

I sincerely wish you the greatest success in your new endeavor (whatever that may be) and I hope that you and your family do not suffer long in the ranks of the unemployed.

In fact, I hope no one has to - but I see a dark cloud forming over the country that may not clear in my lifetime.

Have a nice day!

Not to worry. Soon this will be in every school room and the kiddo's will have to watch. Get ready for a couple of billion dollars from the obama-- I mean the government to save this vital part of our economy.

What may not be widely know, is that Current TV is not a signatory to any of the entertainment trade unions, In fact, they have waged a campaign to scare and intimidate their employees from joining the unions. They routinely violate industry work standards and practices all in the name of democratizing TV.

and just where are you getting your information from madison67? because I work at Current and as do many of my friends and Ive never been scared or intimidated from joining a union. then again I dont want to join a union, I dont feel like its necessary for my department. the subject of unions has NEVER been brought up to me by anyone.

Also they do not violate any industry work standards....Ive received nothing but great treatment and wonderful benefits here. Anyone who thinks that Current is a hard place to work is naive and should try some of the other companies in the tech and entertainment industry which are run by idiots who have no actual idea how to manage a company. Ask some of the people in CNETs franchises how they feel especially at gamespot.com then you'll hear how a company is poorly managed.
