Thought you poor folks might appreciate this little fact... seems Al likes Canada... and once again Canadian tax payers are taking care of another American born leftist.

Hey qed,

Are you sure it is Bushs fault. I thought it might be Halliburton or Exxon Mobile. It was probably that bush starting drinking again and made all these stupid decisions when he was drunk. Probably though it was people who had no job and no mpney buying miliion dollar homes

I'm so sorry there are layoffs in this particular website. I'm sorry guys, but when you have a politician who invented the internet and was claiming we needed tohave only 250 million people on Earth and then was sure globalwarming was detroying Earth. I'm really sorry. No matter what the law may be passed it just aint so and MrGore is engendering love and peace as so many rich, children of the '60s generation.

LOL LOL. Have you ever seen a bigger bunch of losers other than the ones at Obama rallys? Oh well, Starbucks er..no not even they are hiring. McDonalds stocks are up with their dollar menu so there you go! If you had gotten a real job instead of working for a hypocritical, lying, fat, wind bag like Gore you wouldn't be in this situation now would you? See you at the drive thru!

I guess Al's "losers" are reporting posts they don't like. LOL. What I said was did you ever see a more sorry bunch of losers other than the ones at Obama rallys? I really don't see how that it is offensive, as it is true.

Gore has already killed millions worldwide by starvation due to his biofuels b.s. (diverting food to extremely crappy sources of energy)... what's everybody pissin' about, over a few stinkin' jobs?

As a conservative I find some of the comments about Gore's company layoffs-- perfect examples of the poisoned political world we live in. Seeing a video of McCain supporters marching in Manhattan being denounced in the most vile way by so-called enlightened liberals-- neither side is showing much class.
VP. Gore went globe trotting to a conference condemning global warming instead of just teleconferencing. No one took him to task for all the fuel and exhaust wastes. He presents a propaganda documentary with numerous falsehoods and wins awards. He is a politician who can boringly pontificate and turn into a southern black preacher when the moment suites him. Is Gore presenting any alternatives to layoffs???--Ah--Let's go to Canada where the costs are cheaper. Let all the young and idealistic staff fall on their swords. Only media such as CNET are willing to present Gore in less than the usual glowing terms. I live in a area where people still claim Pres. Bush "stole" Gore's presidency. It must that "Green House Effect" again.

wow people this is why you should have started your own company. then you can only lay off yourself. when you work for a scam arttist you should expect this. the guy is a bloated pig. he's the yoda profit of doom. may be he will let you clean his brand new boat or wash his windows or mow his yard. people rely to much on employers. i have 3 including my self and we are prosperring even with a reccesion. also believe me when i say its going to get alot worse. most of you werent even born the 70's. the 4 years of carter 10-12% inflation, over 10% unemployment. dont worry he will give you unemployment checks (welfare) so why work. the cycle will continue for another generation. amen

To all you people criticizing Current, do YOU have Nobel Prizes? Al Gore told us this would not only work, but would revolutionize all media. And HE has one. So there.

I'm surprised as hell that there are so many FOX News devotees reading here. Actually, I'm surprised that you guys can read at all.

They decreased the workforce by thirty. BFD. That's twenty less than the House Republicans lost in the last two elections. In fact, if you all keep acting like a-holes you can expect to keep on losing your representation, not that we all won't be better off for it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. First Air America, then Al's big venture, then what? Maybe Barry WON'T be able to stop the water from rising, give us all clean air, cheap gas, mortgage buy-outs and a golden ticket into the college of our choice. Maybe we'll find out, once again, that Socialism/Marxism STILL doesn't work, EVEN with the current, brilliant crew of legislators (Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid--good grief, what an embarassment this group is) and the most-exalted, no "there" there empty suit, AKA "The Messiah."

The best part is that most of the conservatives that I know are securely employed, self-sufficient, ready for disaster and don't rely on the gubbmint for anything. So, we will sit back and relish our Schadenfruede. See ya on the streetcorner, with your hand out, buddy.

I've always thought that the biggest problem AirAmerica Radio has is that open minds don't really need, or want, to be spoon fed a single viewpoint. And also, like I said, Republican representation in our government is in a hell of a lot worse shape the Current is. The best thing Conservatives could do is break from nut-case Republicans. That would split an already shrinking minority into two much smaller pieces though ... so, I guess they've pretty much screwed themselves. Pretty soon it'll occur to them them (the true conservatives) that the reason they're screwed is that they've joined themselves at the hip with the likes of Roger Ailes and Rush Limbaugh. It'll take surgery to separate from those two.

Do you guys have any idea what Socialism or Marxism is? What do you all think about Palin distributing all that oil industry wealth to a bunch of Alaskans who never drilled a well, or processed a single drop of that crude. Don't you think they're just stealing the money from the hard working people who earned it? As far as socialism goes in this country, that's about the best example I can find. Well ... there are also all the agriculture handouts that the "red states" are so fond of. I'm sure *your* conservatives turn them down though.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever.

Algore's Hot Air Express is starting to deflate. One can only run around screaming "The Sky is Falling!" for so long before people start to realize: He's full of it!

"Pay them in carbon credits"----- Best line I've heard in a while!!

Thanks. Gore the fraud is being exposed. These stupid people who let their ideology affect their ability to see the truth and then invest their money in the delusion are pathetic. Fools and their money are soon parted. Darwinism 101.

Algore is as big a hypocrite as he is a fraud. He has quite skillfully mastered the P.T. Barnum axiom that there is a sucker born every minute by making mega millions selling "indulgences" (carbon credits)to the unrepentant liberal wusspeople who believe in the greatest lie ever told, 'Global Warming'; the 'carbon credit' hoax that will soon become the basis of the 'cap and trade' scheme to be foisted on us by that master of eloquent speaking (while saying nothing), Barack "Houdini" Obama. Unfortunately for those of us who recognize that Algore is as dumb as a doorknob, he's likely to be appointed as the next first secretary of the energy collective by comrade chairman Obama. Why else would he be installing a new 240-line fiber optic cable to his energy 'black hole' house in Nashville? Perhaps he'll rehire some of these losers for his private staff. I can't feel sorry for any of them. One, they were dumb enough to try to be successful in woefully unpopular liberal media; and two, they were even dumber to work for an idiot like Algore.

Current Media? Neither I nor 98% of the rest of America has ever heard of it!

When did CNET get bought out by FOX? The reader base here is surprisingly anti-liberal, anti-progressive.

Say what you will about Gore and his media corporation; this poor decision chose business and more cash flow over talented young individuals and that is a common travesty. I have two people close to me who were let go from Current yesterday; one in the SF office and one in LA.

In the end, they ended up working for The Man, after all; but it wasn't their fault. I hope wherever they go next, their talents will be appreciated and valued in the way that they deserve.

Thanks for saying what you said above, Turquoisebird. Some kindness in the thread, finally.

There should be more people just as thoughtful posting here; how would the rest of you feel if you lost your job due to corporate greed?

Idealistic hipsters aren't immune from layoffs any more than dot com or Wall street paper pushers are. My girlfriend's friend was laid off from Wired for similar reasons Monday. There are other options out there, you just might have to leave your bubble to find them.

I wonder if we could get someone with CNET to tell us how many IP addresses all these Gore haters are posting from. I'd bet 3, or less. ;-) I suppose there is a possibility they've been sent from some hater forum somewhere. Such a waste. I can't wait until they see what's in store for them now--
