A crook who's apparently seen The Thomas Crowne Affair too many times was able to get away with an armored truck robbery in Washington by soliciting decoys on Craigslist with the promise of a road maintenance job.
Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.

About The Social
CNET News' Caroline McCarthy is a downtown Manhattanite who believes that, despite popular opinion, the Web can actually help your social life. She's happily addicted to fun social-media tools from Twitter to Yelp to Facebook, sends an inordinate number of text messages, and has a tendency to waste time at the office reading restaurant blogs. Here, she explores all facets of the Web's gregarious side, as well as the unique tech culture in her home city of New York. (Don't call it Silicon Alley.)

- I agree with the guy at the top. I dont think it can be "blamed" on our economy and this may very well not even be his motive. But if you were faced with robbing an armored truck or watching your family starve, what would you do? There are other ways, yes. He didnt have to hurt the guy either. The gaurd was just doing his job and for that i hope this guy gets caught, but you never know someone's situation and more importantly calling someone a "retard" is worse than rationalizing the robber's motives. You insult mentally handicapped people and make yourself look like a biggot. Well played sir.
