It appears West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin has been commissioned to pen a flick about the red-hot social network. Come speculate wildly on casting!

I think Tom Merritt would be an excellent future Zuckerberg in case Sorkin wants to use the flashback.

Ooo...I love him as Chuck, but don't think he'd do well in a Facebook movie. =P

I think Bill Gates should play Mark Zuckerberg. Yes I know that Bill isn't an actor, but it wouldn't be hard for him to play the role as they both ripped of others stuff and called it their own. Also Bill has more time on his hands as he has stepped down from his full time postion at Microsoft because he is less relevant and he doesn't want to be round when Google's income becomes bigger than Microsoft's.

They kind of look the same too, except Bill is a lot older, but nothing that a good Linux server and CGI couldn't fix.

This has to be some kind of horrible joke. A Facebook movie?!?? Is the company seriously this self-serving that they would even consider allowing this? They're a freakin social network...if there's gonna be a Facebook movie, there should surely be a Microsoft, Google, or Apple movie first.

About The Social

CNET News' Caroline McCarthy is a downtown Manhattanite who believes that, despite popular opinion, the Web can actually help your social life. She's happily addicted to fun social-media tools from Twitter to Yelp to Facebook, sends an inordinate number of text messages, and has a tendency to waste time at the office reading restaurant blogs. Here, she explores all facets of the Web's gregarious side, as well as the unique tech culture in her home city of New York. (Don't call it Silicon Alley.)
