So....dare I say it.....Holodecks? :) Even without the "force fields" to make things feel solid, that'd still be pretty darn cool.

This new 3D display technology that does not require glasses is popping up all over the place. Pretty cool indeed and it seems it's coming soon. Just recently I found this survey from a company looking to introduce this technology. They are looking for feedback, so here is the link if you want to take the survey. It sounds similar to the above story.

I think the real growth in 3D will come from the enterprise where glasses are not required - just a higher end video card. There is real opportunity to interact at the object level, the smart object level to gain insights into the design, build, operate and deconstruct of objects where the visualization of data will take on new meaning.
