I do have a couple of questions:
If I place the DropMyRights.exe file in the root of the C disk as suggested, what should be entered in the Start in box of the shortcut properties dialog box.
Does this effect the speed at which an application starts up?
I assume there is nothing to be done to reduce the privileges of programs which access the Internet at startup to check for updates. Is this correct?
2. Select the Shortcut tab
3. In the Run: drop-box, select Minimized.
This runs DropMyRights.exe minimized...but your application in normal mode.

I was wondering why I did NOT get the "one second flicker"!!
My Run tab was set to minimized from the start!
Switched to "normal window",caught the flicker, and switched back to
minimized.
All paths are double checked but no reaction. Any idea how to diagnose it?
Thanks for any comments

- Hi there, I recently came across your post regarding DropMyRights after having to deal with a particularly annoying piece of malware which ruined my Windows install; not wishing to have to deal with anything like that again I've just installed DropMyRights and configured it to run with Internet Explorer, Opera and Live Messenger. I've noticed something curious though - while I was testing it, DropMyRights will prevent me from saving anything into the root C:\ folder but it'll let me save things into the Windows folder and the system32 folder no problem. I'm assuming that as it's preventing me from saving anything to root then at least I've set the thing up correctly, but I'm not sure why it's not protecting anything else. Any advise would be very much appreciated!
