In Universidad Pompeu Fabra, in Barcelona, we are studing a Master call"posicionamiento en buscadores PEB" in order to improve our knowledge in seo, keywords and marketing on-line. I hope we could help most enterprise and people not to feel recession instead!

You mentioned free tools like Keyword Discovery, Wordtracker and Google Trends to help with identifying keywords and trends. What about search engine rank tracking software like SearchPresence? I've used http://www.searchpresence.net to track my rank and note changes made to the pages.

SEO may get a boost from the recession.

I hadn't thought of it that way, it may be that people cut back even more on SEO?

If SEO does get a boost, the problem is that everyone wants quick or even immediate results... and SEO doesn't work like that.
