Xdrive also the oldest?
by paulstorm June 30, 2007 12:41 AM PDT
Nice overview of all the storage services out there! The only one I recognize out of all of them tho is Xdrive. I think it is the longest lasting service thus far.

That said -- I've never had anyone send me an Xdrive link to pickup a file. I wonder how usage is over there...

Remember Carbonite
by SarahRes3576 July 26, 2007 8:21 AM PDT
I think one important player is Carbonite Backup, I am actually a big fan of the Carbonite backup system. It?s extremely affordable, only 50 bucks for unlmited backup. I have alot of important files on my computer (work related) and its important to me that they all are backed up. carbonite allows me to do this. I highly recommend Carbonite to anyone that needs to back up anything on their computer, photos, music, papers, whatever. Carbonite has allowed me to be a little calmer everyday, knowing that all of my files are safe and secure.

there are more storage services around
by markfour July 29, 2007 9:45 AM PDT
Out of the services I've been using both streamload.com and who.hasfiles.com worth mentioning.
Streamload gives the biggest storage around for free, 25 GB, but limits monthly bandwidth. Who.hasfiles doesn't provide that much of space but gives a seamless way of remote drive usage, like X: drive, with no extra software pieces.

Bandwidth and security

Can you explain "bandwidth" and the importance of it in this aspect. Also, are these online storage sites regulated at all? What protection would you have against them going out of business and then your data is GONE!

Listen up Xdrive Consumers....! XDMOlson is going to hook you all up with the easiest way to transfer your Xdrive digital assets to another provider.

I know there are a lot of other providers out there, check out my previous post about the Ultimate Review List of Best Free Online Storage and Backup Application Services...

However XDMOlson is going to recommend selecting ElephantDrive for current Xdrive consumers. They have worked out an agreement with Xdrive to make transferring those digital assets over as easy as possible.
