Don Reisinger thinks Apple may try to get out of the exclusivity agreement with AT&T. But will AT&T let that happen?

How do we know that the first iPhone was not subsidized? Apple could've actually charged At&t $600 for the $399 phone. In order for Apple to sell a ton of iPhone 3Gs, they had to be cheaper, so Apple had to give up their share of the service revenue so that At&t could afford to provide such a subsidy to make the phone $199. My guess is that Apple will stick with At&t, because other companies such as Verizon and Sprint INSIST on shoving their noses in everything from ads, to logos and software on their phones!

CDMA phones have poorer battery life on phones anyway....they would definitely have to redesign the iphone to make it work well on CDMA and still have decent battery life

To late for the T-Mobile. I know several students who have rigged the phone on T-Mobile carriers. Everything works except the cell phone service is not that great.

Love my I-Phone but HATE AT&T's incredibly POOR Signal. Our Verizon & Sprint phones had very good reception in our area, coastal NH. When Sprint merged with AT&T the signal disappeared. Rumor has it that certain towers were shut down to save $$! Just one more reason to not like AT&T.
I would drop AT&T & go with Verizon in a heartbeat!

Visual Voicemail is not exclusive to Apple. It's a licensed technology from some 3rd party. Sprint has already announced that the Samsung Instinct will support Visual Voicemail when it launches later this month.
