A few weeks ago my husband went on line to find a camera bag. He checked and Circuit City's website said that they had this camera bag in stock on one of the store's. My husband paid for it on line and we drove to pick it up. When we arrived he went to the service desk and showed the the print out. The assistant gave him the box with the camera bag. But my husband looked at the box and asked are you sure this is the correct one? It looked too small. My husband was right. The assistant checked on the computer and it said that there was one in the store. She sent someone to look for it. Came back 15 minutes later and said there was not any bag of that type. My husband got his money back and an extra $25 for the inconvenience of driving 35 miles one way. Since then we have never gone or ever be shopping at a Circuit City store.

I was alarmed at this blog when I first read it months ago and I hope its just scare mongering but CC is still in business and I hope their stores remain open. Nearly every week in the ad you wil find they have movies, games, electronics, accessories, etc that are cheaper than BB, I have gone to BB to match CC prices too many times cos I have the BB reward card, whereas I dont readily recall going to CC to match a BB price, BB are so big they dont care if their prices are not the cheapest..
As an example this week GTA 4 is released and CC are offering a $10 gift card, you wont see BB doing that. Also CC have lots of stuff BB dont sell but then I guess vice versa but its still nice to be able to go to a CC store if you wish. I must admit the stores have a different atmosphere, BB feels nicer, and my local CC is always nearly empty which to me is a good thing as sometimes I'm in a hurry so I want to make a purchase or return very quickly whereas at BB you usually have to wait, sometimes forever. Also sometimes they have better offers than BB and you are also more likely to find an item that BB have sold out.
I'm in a perfect location, both BB & CC are about 10mins walk away from my home so I would really miss the choice if CC closed, I mean I got my Halo Xbox360 at CC and they gave away their Gamers discount card, again BB dont have this card.
Yes long live CC!

And it's just about dead, as Circuit City has to liquidate assets and close all U.S. stores. For the time being, BestBuy survives as a brick and mortar and web portal, for now . . . The economy may still take BestBuy, and that has little to do with Best Buys efforts, it may be the times
