Handbrake just got a little better, and a lot worse, all at the same time.

If you read the forums, the developers have been saying for a quite awhile that the decryption was not going to be supported and even when it was supported on the Mac, they suggested using another decryption program. HandBrake was never able to handle anymore than the most rudimentary encryption not the more advanced decryption that many DVD's use.

How hard is "sudo aptitude install libdvdcss2"? Oh, nevermind, I just got it - Windows users. Yeah, that's a bummer. But, on the bright side, the project is FOSS (GPL'ed) - http://handbrake.fr/rotation.php?file=HandBrake-0.9.1.tar.gz will give you the code to the old version. Maybe it's time for a fork to keep this project useful to the Windows users of the world.

I am not sure about on Linux but I have noticed that the new version 0.93 encodes slower then 0.92 on my computer.

I don't know what changes they made but I am sticking with 0.92

Many GNU/Linux decryption of DVDs uses that library, its not a major issue.
