I almost didn't read this article

because the more I learn about how fascinating and intelligent whales seem to be, the more sickened I am that our Navy seems intent on wiping them out. Huge, social, generally harmless creatures that just want to swim and be left alone, and we're finding out more and more about the complexities of their communication, and the idiot Navy is jerking around playing sonar games, making the whales' brains bleed, and making them suffer so intolerably that they beach themselves en masse rather than go on living under such torture.

Wouldn't surprise me if sooner or later it's found that they're talking about what heartless idiots human beings can be. Seems like the sharks are already pissed at us...

I was so touched by your comment that I went straight to Google and searched for somebody who's tackling this. Join up -- Natural Resources Defense Council is big and strong and fierce enough to be taking the US Navy to court. Get with the good guys and feel better. Your heart is in the right place and thanks to you, at least one more person is on this issue -- me. Thanks!
