Heart Attack
by MrServo May 17, 2006 11:30 AM PDT
What happens when the heart finally fails?

I forsee a long line of phreaking for a device such as this, using the outcome for malicious intent. This is going to be a lot like what you would see in the movies; Guy goes in over phone lines, cracks the security keys, peons move in, loot the place(now knowing that it's safe an empty...thanks heartbeat for telling the bad guys) and then move out swiftly, not leaving any trace of what might have just happened.

Granted this problem exists with all electronics, I feel in this scenario it may be a little more common. It may just be me ranting about how I hate so-called security, but I'm trying to make my point heard.

X10 and my cell phone
by tutenstein May 17, 2006 11:46 AM PDT
I had this idea few years back of building a home security system over X10, which, on encountering an alarm, such as a door opening when it shouldn't, would be able to send a text message to a configured cellphone. It looks doable, although I haven't had time to actually implement it.

I know there not much but the State doesn't have to pay "RAGS" health insurance. Today may be my day to find out my mother has died so I can get back to work and start receiving my post in my residense again. Call Dr. Phil for the national follow up!
Sounds nice

Sounds nice until you factor the government into the equation. I'm sure there is some governmental instituion salivating over the ways this can be exploited. I've been noticing a trend of the government using private businesses as a loophole to the constitution. This is one piece of technology I'll do without. All technology like this does is makes society more lazy and dependent...which is something the government smiles upon.
