Yes cold fusion rely on the precious metal palladium. But that is not going to be a problem. Each cold fusion device will use only a small amount of palladium. The metal acts as a catalyst and not consumed. So it can be recycled at the end of life cycle. There WILL be a palladium shortage if cold fusion goes into commercial application. It will drive up palladium price to extremely high level. Then there will be economic incentives to open new palladium mines of much lower mineral grade to secure supply, low mineral grades that were previously not profitable to produce will become profitable at higher palladium price.
Do you know that USA has the world's highest grade palladium mine in Montana. It's called Stillwater Mine, (stock symbol is SWC). Invest in palladium and invest in SWC now if you believe cold fusion is the real deal this time. Read:

In last Friday's April 24 issue of "What's New," Dr. Robert L. Park's sometimes caustic weekly commentary on science-related topics, the irrepressible Dr. Park made some very witty remarks about this 'cold fusion' program segment and related Internet brouhaha that took place last week.

Showing 2 of 2 pages (34 Comments)The description of the process as "Cold Fusion" is the problem, just as much as the ego of some "scientists". On top of all this "Big Energy" does not like the idea of "excess Energy". That would kill their business.
With President Obama in charge, is is conceivable, that not just this, but all such ideas are seriously considered to the point, where some can be dismissed and some be realized, fast.
We're running out of time, Ladies and Gents! This Planet has been fracked up by Greed, Ignorance and Stupidity. And there is no end in sight. To me it is clear, that all those talkers, deniers will one day wake up, get out of their bed, to get wet feet.... Global Warming is real, and it is accelerating at a much faster pace than what we are made to believe.
Every possibility must be explored...
