But think of the tools
by orchycore August 11, 2006 10:16 PM PDT
The release of the data, has had one major upside. A new level of insight into search engines. This tool here http://www.askthebrain.com/aol/ allows you to view the keywords people have searched for for any site you specify. Eg how did people find Download.com? http://www.askthebrain.com/aol/www.download.com

Unethical Tactics
by wbenton August 12, 2006 6:16 AM PDT
AOL has a reputation for unethical tactics... least of all is collecting continued use of AOL for deceased members.

That said... this is yet just another unacceptable AOL approach.

Appologized or not, it's still unethical and unacceptable in the world of our's today.

Search proxy = user protection
by talledega500 August 14, 2006 9:57 PM PDT
There are so many search proxies out there I dont know why non-techies dont get it or know about it.

Heres a free and really easy one to use that prevents user tracking with no software to download.
