My take: I think "platform" and "commodity" are the key words in Stacey's statement. Social networks will become the commoditized platform for social apps. People will probably choose the site that's easiest for them to manage, and end users will find the value from the social apps that they can use. Those apps just need to be useful, functional, and have a broad enough reach across the end users' communities of interest. End users could probably care less about whether it's because of OpenSocial that these apps come about.

Mark is to be congratulated, Facebook is a hit. But it may just be the Flavor of the Month.

The majority of its users are in a demographic that can change their mind in an instant leaving Facebook wondering "Where did everyone go?".
