Comments on: Why I'm fed up with the global warming debate

It goes on and on without resolution. But now there's new hope that real change could happen. I hope we're not about to get let down again.

Shame on all you so-called Liberals. Why don?t you question, doubt and challenge authority from the corporate media instead of being such lemming like conformists.
Despite a clear blue sky, you miserable whining obedient liberals see a brown sky that will kill future generations.
God help us.

Carbon Dioxide is NOT a pollutant. global warming is Not caused by man and there is no evidence supporting that the warming trend will continue. In fact the globe is starting to show cooling trends. Get over it you anti capitalist socialistic hippies!!! go smoke some dope and paint pictures about your feelings.

The U.S. government reported two weeks ago that the average global temperature this winter was 0.58 degrees above the 20th century average and that the U.S. temperature was 0.2 degrees above average. Is that what you call a "cooling trend." Regardless of whether global warming is true, the fact remains that we are eventually going to run out of fossil fuels to burn and who wants to breath polluted air? Do you really think tearing apart mountains for coal is a good thing? Do you really like fighting over oil in the middle east? Do you think spending $11 billion a month in Iraq is worth fighting for oil? All one needs to do is read these message boards to see the the U.S. educational system has severely failed.

Reality of a Skeptic:
My lord what a fantastic day today. The sky is as blue can be and the fresh air during my run was invigorating. Life is good.

Insanity of Global Warmers:
I peeked out my window this morning after looking at pictures of drowning polar bears on the screen to see this strange sight. It was bright, and clear and clean looking. I think it was sky. How could this be? Our planet is in crisis. I needed to take out my blue box for recycling so I put a generous amount of sunscreen on and dashed out to get the box by the curb. I couldn?t hold my breath long enough so I had to inhale the poisoned air. It did not make me choke. This cannot last long.

@mememine6969 - I wake up each morning just fine. I take a nap or read on the bus on my way to work. I enjoyed the sunshine today. I guess according to you that blue sky has nothing to to with the environmental protection set in place in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I don't insult Mother Nature by sh*tting in the river directly when I go camping or backpacking. Cheney seems to think majority of American's opinion don't matter, so I guess he's just as an elitest as the rest of the liberals. Now why don't you and canadianDude take your righteous wrath to the Apalachians to live with the town folks who are enjoying mine tailings for tab water.

Howdy from Chicago. When can I get my global warming to kick in? I was out on the lake this time last year. The kids had to find their eggs in the snow. Hmm. Climate happens.

???????OH I FEEL THAT LIBERAL LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I?m a liberal and the whole global warming issue embarrasses even me. Global warming is somebody else?s theory, not ours. Your theory, you prove it. Why should we as skeptics disprove something you GWrs can?t even prove in the first place? (Hello, 25 years now?)
And then you have the nerve to demonize an opposing view by accusing the skeptics of wanting to pollute the world since they don?t believe in CO2 being a poison. (He11, I laugh every time I say it, it so ridiculous, CO2.)
I care about the environment just as much as you, less this aging theory of global warming of course. As long as you global warmers are leading environmentalism down the wrong road, you are not helping anyone.
We need to protect it not save it from a non-existent crisis.

>>In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.<<

If we can screw up one planet, why not two?

Green EnvironMENTALism Turns Red

At first they just came for the incandescent light bulbs
and I did not speak out
because these days, I prefer to hide in the darkness of my warm basement.

Then they came for the plastic shopping bags
and I did not speak out
because I was already using the 100% polyester/imitation weave environmentally friendly replacement bag they had issued me for approved minimal consumption usage laws.

Then they came with this giant diesel-powered truck to pickup and COMPOST my bagged leaves for me.
and I did not speak out
because I did not have any plastic bags.

Then they came for my drive-thru
and I did not speak out
because they had already taken my SmartCar and recycled it into an environmentally friendly bicycle, thank you very much.

Then they came with for my barbecue grill
and I did not speak out
because it doesn?t matter what the %&#@k you do to a vegetarian hotdog, it still tastes like $hit.

Then they came for my air conditioner
and I did not speak out
because by this time, the inevitable colder climate trend mysteriously re-appeared for reasons we still do not understand and may not ever.

Then they came to register me to vote
and I did not speak out
so they impaled my poor little weed infested, pesticide-free front lawn with a plastic Green Party re-election sign.

Finally, they came for me
and I COULD not speak out
because there was nothing left to give
or take.

As any scientist will tell you, global warming is an unassailable fact. The problem is this country is being run by big business who would sacrifice our future for profit. The morons who defend these lies-for-profit should be ashamed of themselves.

You are clearly demonstrating your political agenda by demonizing those with opposing views on man-made climate Skeptics do not let others do our thinking for us. We are suspect of the theory not only because of the obvious personal and political agendas but also because the theory has been predicting doom for 25 years now. Why would you wish for this future suffering of coming generations to take place? We should protect our world of nature as opposed to saving it with fear from some mythical crisis. As a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists for many years, I beg you to please use some perspective because global warmers are leading us down the wrong path and not helping anyone.

It needs to be noted that The Global Warming Hoax has been seen before but wearing different clothes. It was called Lysenkoism, a mix of both science quackery repressive political and social campaigns undertaken in science and agriculture by the powerful Stalinists. Trofim Lysenkoism recycled the bogus theory that acquired characteristics of living organisms could be passed-on to offspring, providing Stalin with a pseudo-scientific way of blaming farmers for crop failures rather than the disaster of communism.

Whether global warming is fact or fiction, mad-made or part of a natural cycle, I think I'd prefer clean air to breathe and safe drinking water. Actually, I know I'd prefer clean air and safe water. That, and fossil fuels are a finite resource that will one day run out. Maybe we should start working on the alternatives now rather than later. It would certainly lead to the cleaner air we all need.
