Comments on: Why I'm fed up with the global warming debate

It goes on and on without resolution. But now there's new hope that real change could happen. I hope we're not about to get let down again.

There can be very few people on the planet who can look around and believe that our good earth does not have serious problems. World population has to be addressed. Maybe global warming will start the "culling."
If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I think a lot of people are poorly informed regarding Earths's natural climate cycles. Look at these graphs and you will see lots of previous "global warming": THE ONLY NATURAL CONSTANT IN CLIMATE IS CLIMATE CHANGE ITSELF - see for yourself

1. 12,000 year history:

http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Image:Holocene_Temperature_Variations_Rev_png

This shows the warming trend (Holocene Interglacial) that melted away the last ice age. Notice the temperature peaked about 8,000 years ago, and the overall trend is declining temperature, with lots of ups and downs.

2. Five million year history:
http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Image:Five_Myr_Climate_Change_Rev_png

Note that once again the overall trend is declining temperatures, lots of ups and downs, and the variations between glacials(ice ages) and interglacials (warm intervals like the current Holocene) is becoming more intense.

3. LONG TERM CO2 history:
http://net33.com/images/earth_co2_temp_history_millions.gif
This shows earth has gone into ice ages several times when CO2 was 15 times higher than it is today. Today's CO2 levels are very low compared to Earth's long-term average.

4. 65 Million Year History - same story - average temperature declining :
http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Image:65_Myr_Climate_Change_Rev_png

THESE CHARTS PROVE ONE THING 100% FOR SURE: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STABLE CLIMATE. Nature does not do horizontal lines. Temperature and Co2 are always rising or falling with no help from humans. This goes WAAAY back before humans came along.

Summary: THE ONLY NATURAL CONSTANT IN CLIMATE IS CLIMATE CHANGE ITSELF

Peace from Canada

"Hey dipshit, the reason you aren't getting any Gwrs in your forum is THERE IS NO DEBATE ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING. Y'all are just talking to yourselves. "

Dipshit? Oh I feel that liberal love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are already are a sore loser by sounds of it. Global warmers like to demonize us skeptics and have little tolerance for opposing views.
That forum at TOPIX is the largest on the Internet we argue with the warmies and win every time. It's like an intervention.
Come on over and show us your logic, reason and an indication of reality.
Fair enough?

We should all be concerned about pollution and toxic waste, but CO2 is not pollution.

CO2 IS NATURAL AND GOOD: We all produce CO2 every time we exhale. Trees take in CO2 and produce oxygen from it. If we somehow removed all the CO2 from the atmosphere all plants would die the same day, and human extinction would follow. There really is not much CO2 in the air. CO2 is only 0.038 % of the atmosphere, and only about 5 % of that is man made.

The simplistic notion that ?CO2 causes global warming and controls climate? is equivalent to saying ?hot dog sales cause recessions and control the economy ?. It?s a childish oversimplification of an extremely complex topic.

If there was no greenhouse effect Earth's temperature would be -30 C degrees, and essentially uninhabitable.

Peace to all - do some reading on Holocene and Eemian and you will begin to understand that mother nature has her own rhythm, and humans definately do not control the climate.

Fear is what you advocate as the motivator for change? Nice! That is what Hitler did. You can tell children that their children will be suffering an unimaginable hell on a melting planet all you want. Just stay away from our kids.
In 1900 they wondered what to do with all of the horses needed by the year 2000 and you have made a journey in time and virtually said the same thing.
There isn't a crisis. We are living longer than at any time in history and if you think we can make the sky bluer and the grass greener through fear, you will surely be compared to the intelligence of cave wall scratchings.

Here is some information about Al Gore he forgot to mention in his movie. This is very serious stuff I have been researching, and I wish the mainstream media would start looking into it. Please check this out yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Gore has a company called Generation Investment Management(GIM) and it is s raking in millions and millions.

Gore is Chairman of GIM:

http://www.generationim.com/philosophy/

GIM invests in Corporations that cause massive toxic waste and deadly air pollution. Here is their mandatory SEC disclosure:

http://www.secinfo.com/d13P5q.u1q.htm

Note that Gore invests heavily in GE (a major player in the Military Industrial Complex) and Becton Dickinson (a champion of Toxic Waste)

Learn more about Becton Dickinson's environmental scandals here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Becton_Dickinson

And here is a marvelous flying gattling gun that spreads depleted uranium (DU) all over the Middle East - thanks to GE:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAU-8_Avenger

GE is also a leader in nuclear submarine systems which I would describe as weapons of mass destruction. Is this really about "carbon offsets"?

Best wishes to all - May ye all become truth seekers.
This isn't about right or left - it's about the truth.

I think what Charles Cooper is saying is:
"Business can make money on global warming hype whether it is true or not. So, focus on your greed. Big companies and researchers (looking for more grants) have done it and it works. "

My thought is: If we don't have honest problems, how can we come up with honest solutions.

In general I would agree with the founder of the weather channel, John Coleman in his "Comments on Global Warming"

Please sir dont talk of progress...and Im sure alot of people are going to be sick of global warming very fast....its 100% false. You expect to be forgiven for pushing the biggest FRAUD in the history of the planet.. Its a joke that mother nature has exposed the very people who claim to protect her. Al Gore should be run out of town and leftists are morons!

So we should just accept scientific concensus that global warming is real? At one point in time the "scientific concensus" was that the Earth was flat. Weather by its very nature is unpredictable. How often do we gripe that the weatherman got it wrong again? If they can't even predict it accurately 24-48 hours in advance, how can we possibly say with any certainly that global warming is a fact?

AstroD,

Your assertion that the scientific consensus at one point in history thought the Earth was flat is absolutely wrong and a demonstration of how you are either misinformed, or just plain dishonest. Even the Ancient Greeks knew the Earth was round. The idea of the Earth being flat is folklore and has *never* been science.

That isn't to say that the "scientific consensus" is always right. In ages past, science was used to substantiate the biases of the day, i.e. "social darwinism" to justify racist ideologies...

However, the body of evidence supporting global warming is enormous and corroborated across thousands of organization and researchers. On the other end of the table, the anti-global warming crowd has little or no evidence. What "evidence" there is, is being spouted by scientists deep in the pockets of big oil and big industry.

I am beginning to see a parallel betwen those who question global warming and those who question evolution. So many of you love to question the science, but amply demonstrate that you do NOT understand how science works. There is no way to "prove" global warming, or evolution. But there IS evidence to support it. All you nay-sayers do is sit back and obfuscate the truth, fearful of change and fearful that your lifestyle of excess and exploitation will have to change for the better of all rather than for yourselves.

Oh no no no. Let the debate continue until Gore and the rest of the weasel Left are finally and convincingly unveiled as the charlatans and demagogues they are. Perhaps Gore can bury his little statuettes and Prizes in a re-freezing glacier.
This article is one of the first of many articles to come as the climate nazis start backpedaling and parsing to cover their tracks. Debate should continue until the leaders of this hoax admit to the use of false science and scare tactics for political ends.

Nevertheless, environment and economic does mix alright.

CAN YOU SAY SOCIALISM! The global warming debate would be more believable if you didn't have Socialist like Al ***** pushing it. If you guys think that somehow we humans control Mother Nature, then you really are arrogant. The earth has a way of correcting any imbalances. We belong to the planet, the planet does not belong to us! She can destroy us tonight if she wanted to! First Communism, then Socialism, now Environmentalism!

If Global Warming exists (not), it can't be stopped. Americans and EU nations will spend trillions, but China and India will wipe away gains made by other countries. I don't think it's a cause, but if it is, it's a lost cause.

In the 70s scientists were talking about the "Global Cooling" a new Ice Age and all that. Now scientists repudiate all those studies. In 10 years they'll be repudiating Global Warming too. It's all part of natural weather cycles; mankind didn't cause them, can't stop them and can't change them.

There was a time in the 1800s when there were so many hundreds of millions of passenger pigeons in North America, that migrating flocks blacken the sky from one end of the horizon to the other. They are now extinct, all from nothing more than guns and nets used by men to hunt them down. There is a dead zone in the middle of the Pacific from all the junk people have dumped into the ocean. All it takes is a few men to wreck havoc onto the world, that is why terrorism is deem so risky by the government we spent a billion$ a week in Iraq. Yet billions of people all polluting the sky every single day everywhere should have some effect is fiction? Global climate change or not, environmentalism is bad? 50 years from now if most of your children do not have to buy clean water because there won't be enough free, then you can brag about how curbing pollution is a bad religion. Funny how people bunk all science except when it is the one that brings them the computer they use to spew their disbelief on this site, when most scientists use the same scientific principles to conduct their investigations and reach their conclusions. Sure, Mother Nature doesn't care. Whenever we devastates a fishery and have to close it down humans suffer. Yes, like one commenter says, tell a lie long enough and people will believe it, just like the lies tell by the White House and the Big Oil industry day after day for 8 years. Every morning when you worship the highway traffic jam from driving alone in your car, you are just helping the oil company to another record earning year while sucking in the fine grain rubber particles from your tires. Want to know what the real future air quality looks like? Just look to Mexico City and Bejing. Of course with this crowd they will probably be blogging next about keeping all immigrants out and lower the population to keep down the pollution, never mind the increasing use of natural resources per capita. Doesn't matter anyway. If we cannot lead the world to curb pollution, we will feel effect of the pollution from other developing nations soon enough. /g

Oh my god how DO you manage to get out of bed in the morning with that attitude? How miserable can one person be? Life is too short. If you want to respect Mother Nature, give it some credit at least. Do you really think that after BILLIONS of years WE are going to trip her with some of her own CO2-medicine? We have an entire generation now that sees a blue sky and calls it brown with some invisible pollution. Celebrate Mother Nature, don't insult it. We are living longer than at any time in human history don't forget.
Our environment need to be preserved, not saved from a mythical crisis.

For the last 50 years or so our university's have been pumping out thousands upon thousands of left wing foot solders (professionals). These professionals are the elite of our society and we should never question any political guidance that comes from them. How dare the 95% of society with a high school education or less question our intellectual masters. Shame on you all. I suggest you all go sort some garbage until the beautiful light that is leftism cleanses your mind of free thought. We have a generation and a half of sleeper professionals that simply can not go against the Indoctrination their professors instilled in them. Remember its all for the greater good and they know best. Its just to bad that the sleepers were all activated on a BIG FAT LIE. Sucks to be them but of course being in charge they will just change the subject rather than face the fact that they went to war with no bullets in their guns :) Oh yaa and its all GW Bushes fault too.
