Comments on: Vets get an online forum. It's about time

On Veterans Day comes news of the rollout of a social network for military veterans. Great news, but why didn't Uncle Sam think this up awhile ago?

Ditto. Military.com has been around since at least 1996-1997 or so...

Hey Charles,

I find it surprising that you could not find a forum like this before given that you work for a tech/internet company, are based in San Francisco, and seem to be 'fluent' in the workings of the Internet. I say this because about 4 blocks away from CNET's SF office is a company called Military.com (which is all that you claim is long over due in your blog post, and much more.) Even if you didn't know the physical location of Military.com a simple GOOGLE (little company you may, or may not, have heard of) search would have turned this site (and others) up for you. (You do know how to use Google, right?)

Oh, MIlitary.com has been around for about 10 years serving veterans and active duty service members. You might want to check it out at (I?ll just post the URL since 'searching' for a website that provides this service seems to be a challenging process) www.military.com.

Come on Charles, it's so easy even a caveman could do it.
