Good riddance to Alltel, Close all of their outlets and visit your local Verizon Wireless outlet.

I think the merger will be a good thing. The only bad thing is Verizon probably won't carry over Alltel's promotions (My circle, etc) I've had Verizon for about 10 yrs and love it! The service is great, especially for doing a lot of traveling in the US. Ive barely had any problems with my service, and if I do their customer service is awesome...and I really like their VIP program. One time I went wayyy over my minutes due to a health crisis and they credited 100% of the overage. Verizon Rocks!!

hi every one lol<< but yes i do think that Alltel and Vezion needs to come together they are the only two companys that has not merge with any thing. the only part i would say i dont like about it is that the phone battery do not last that long at all. and the thing i do not like about Alltel is that all of there phone are very ugly. but i would be happy if the two pnone company come together.

I have worked for Alltel and Verizon I think Verizon is way better then Alltel I have compaired them both and Verizon always works when Alltel don't. So I think it's good for a change. To all the Alltel people it's not going to be no differnt then when Alltel bought over Cellular One it's the same only the service will get better so I don't know why everyone want's to grip about change. I think that Verizon has a good network and the customer service is way better at Verizon. Thats why Verizon has a test drive so if you don't like it then you can change Alltel dose not have that. only a 15day return. Usually if the people are not liking the service its not because of poor reception its because they either went over there minutes or down loaded to much stuff causing there bill to cost too much and they got mad.

I believe that if verizon tries to take away Alltel customers ability to use My Circle and their ability to change plans at anytime during the contracted time they would be terminating the contract that the Alltel customer had agreed to. And in turn nullifying the contract and allowing Alltel customers out of their contracts with no penalty. By not agreeing to honor all of the customers rights that came with the contract.

Ya, ive been with Verizon for two years just signed up for another 2 and I haven't had any problems. Are they a little pricey? sure but no more than most other networks i've seen. And I have to 100% agree about the dropped call credit issue, I have NEVER had a dropped call. The service is excellent and customer service has always been wonderful to me the very few times I actually had to use them, most things can be done online.

Plus you CAN change your plan with verizon anytime you want add anything you want without having to renew your contract. Only time you have to renew your contract is when you get a new phone with discounted pricing and their 50 or $100 new every two discount. To each is own but for me it's been good.

From a person who has worked independently building cell towers for Verizon, ATT, T Mobile, and Metro PCS there is only one carrier who does things right and builds things right the FIRST time and that is Verizon. They spend the most money on there sites while building them future proof and fully expandable. They are even building cell sites already that are 700MHz capable which will have coverage overlap and way more bars than anyone can get. Again all the myths that people are saying you CANT do with Verizon are exactly that, myths. Besides now they are already doing and application that is almost exactly like My Circle. So for those bad mouthing either accept it or go to Sprint because ATT will get you nowhere.

From personal experience, I can tell you this merger is probably the most painful thing that's happened in communications in a while. The towers in my area have been sold off and the others being converted with major problems. As an AllTel customer, I have not been able to have service at my home for 6 weeks. I get no response from the company and they will not let me out of my contract, although they can not provide service. If this is the future of this merger, I'd look for other options. This same service is happening to the Verizon customers too and from what I am told from local retailers of these services, they aren't receiving answers from the companies either.
