Real ID is a farce

That should be done away with. Most states, like Maryland, have already made it so that their driver's licenses are very hard to duplicate unless you get your hands on the same equipment and materials that the MVA uses or are VERY good at computer design.

Boil a frog - more freedom lost

Why should the people have to carry around a national ID card just because Bush and Cheney murdered thousands of citizens on 9/11? We know they did it. I don't think a national ID card would've changed Bush and Cheney's mind about committing this crime. If anyone has their doubts (it took me years to open my eyes) please see 'patriotsquestion911' dot 'com'. You can see hundreds of pilots, ex-CIA/NSA/FBI officers, structural engineers, military experts, architects, criminal investigators, etc. all conclude that at a minimum the official 9/11 story is mostly lies. These are just the brave few who've come forward.

I agree about 9/11

I think that Bush and Cheney, if not planning it, allowed it to happen in order to get us into Afghanistan and Iraq.

I've also read that self-same evidence, and it raises some SERIOUS doubts about the story that one plane crashing into each of the twin towers (two in all) could have taken them both down at the level that they were hit at.

Where there is a will there is a way

If it is made by "man" it can be "beaten" by man. Does America still have the "Freedom" it once had? The electoral system doesn't makes sense at all, why not count the votes and the one with the most votes win, how difficult can that be?

We have a Republic form of governement for a reason.

You should read some history on the subject, and learn why the founding fathers chose a Republic form of government and not a true Democracy (one man, one vote). If we elected Presidents the way you suggest, then California and New York would be the only states that would matter.

James Madison, known as the father of the U.S. Constitution, wrote in "Essay #10" of The Federalist Papers: "... democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths."

Do what you can to stop this nonsense
by HiF|yer April 29, 2008 2:41 PM PDT
Write your senator or congressman...tell everyone you meet that all of your personal information, ALL OF IT, will be down-loadable from some new government database subject to all the theft and problems that goes with putting your personal info in yet another government controlled database. This can be stopped. The people have to raise their voices and not be led like sheep to the slaughter.

Government is FOR the people and this program works against people. In the frightened post 9-11 world a 250 million people will be targeted for government downloads in the hopes of stopping one or two bad guys. Worse yet, anyone can blow through this system just like they have in the past. Boondoggle...and it will end up costing YOU more than a passport to get one and renew it every 2 years. Estimates are $120 for this card per person in America, plus what comes out of the taxpayers pocket to keep another stinkin' bureaucracy in place.

Psssst....do something!

As usual vendors are lining up to get "a piece" of the pie. Unfortunately that the American way.
