Good call.

Most consumer laptops I have seen fall in the 1.6 - 2.0 GHz range. The higher end ones over 2 GHz, sure, but not even 3 GHz let alone 3.3 GHz.

Atom for desktop, please!
by ddesy April 2, 2008 6:28 AM PDT
I don't know about anyone else, but I could see a market for the Atom processors in energy efficient desktop PCs. Such low power consumption would make it easy and affordable to create very quiet, cool running systems for use with everyday applications. In fact, you could go fanless without special case designs!

Form factors such as the Mac-Mini / Apple-TV could really use the low thermal load. Devices that are destined for living areas need to be quiet.

e.g. One of the strengths of the Wii is it's low heat, fan-less design.
