Toast? So only mac users are having issues?
by Astinsan February 8, 2008 7:42 PM PST
Is the reason for no fix because of it being a mac issue or is there a toast for pc now.. Haven't purchased a roxio product since they burned me on ezcd4 not supporting xp.

Affects Windows Users Too
by fredric100 February 8, 2008 8:53 PM PST
It's not just a Mac problem. Here are some posts from Windows users documenting their problems:

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=5600947&highlight=windows#post5600947 (?It also breaks it on Windows XP SP2 using TiVo desktop.?)

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=5810013&highlight=windows#post5810013 (VideoRedo is a Windows-only application)

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=5635757&highlight=windows#post5635757 (?Now that you mention it, my video editing software (VideoReDo, Windows) also complains about tons of audio sync errors on the files that don't work.?)

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=5612537&highlight=windows#post5612537 (?... I cannot play anything with a .tvio extension using either Windows Media Player 11 or Nero's Show Time. (3.x) on the PC. These used to work.?)

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=5602975&highlight=windows#post5602975 (?I'm using Win2K & Tivo Desktop 2.3a, but I really don't think that's the problem. I had NO ISSUES until this 9.1 fall update.?)
No, us Windows users (XP updated to with all patches)

How I move from TivoToGo to DVD
by RobertFHarwood February 8, 2008 8:36 PM PST
I have TivoToGo Plus. I convert the files to MPEG-4. Then I open them in Sony Media Software Vegas. Cut the extraneous stuff, and render to MPEG-2 and AC-3. Burn the DVD in Sony Media Software DVD Archetict. Sometimes combining some shows to the same disc.

Another Avenue

I take my transferred tivo program and run it through the Direct Show Dump Utility (do a Google on this and it's a free download). I am then able to edit it using Windows Movie Maker. After that it is ready to be burned onto DVD using any burning software. Alot of work to do to go around Tivo's sabotage, but it makes a bad situation tolerable.

If you are a TiVo customer frustrated by the problems with TiVo to Go which have persisted since last Fall, you can can download the protest letter to the TiVo CEO here:

Doesn't work Tivo to Tivo either
by darkridedp February 8, 2008 11:04 PM PST
The fall update just plain stinks. It broke many features, and Tivo to
Tivo transfers are spotty at best now as well. It can sometimes take
2 hours to transfer 30 minutes of programming that used to take 5
minutes before the update. . . if it ever happens at all. Programs
will stay on the pending list forever, or say that they have finished
and there's no program actually transferred.

I'm one of them but I just use VideoRedo's TV Suite and it works fine
by Chris from Kazoo February 9, 2008 5:30 AM PST
VideoRedo's TV Suite works great for me. It also has Tivo files support. The best part is that it can automatically batch remove all the commercials and create the DVD with just a few clicks.

*I don't work for them or any of their partners/subsudiaries. :-)

Sonic Products are sucky
by Stormspace February 9, 2008 7:50 AM PST
I've had problems with Sonic products in the past with regard to TiVo and they have always been less than helpful, even requiring me to purchase new software to address the issue. Personally I'm done with Sonic and would use any other solution than rely on their half hearted attempts to fix things.

TiVo To Go is completely screwed up
by brundlefly76 February 9, 2008 6:59 PM PST
I used to use TiVo To Go all the time, it worked great - but yes after the fall update I can no longer see the videos on my computer.

It enrages me how many hours I struggled trying get this to work again before I realized from the TiVo forums that there are ALOT of people with this problem and TiVo is just pretending everything is just fine.

Audio/ Video not synced
by frelon420 April 15, 2008 9:47 PM PDT
I have bee in contact with Tivo repeatedly. I have found the problem to be a new compression matrix that allows greater capacity than advertised. (My 11 hour tivo holds in excess of 24 half hour programs in the deleted folder). Tivo is not concerned with this problem. Straight from a level two tech I was told that the new compression was done to enhance all users and the archiving activities of a few users was a minor problem. They were not going to roll back the update just to satisfy a minority despite the fact they advertise the ability to burn to DVD on thier website.
