Well, it looks like politics as usual for the Clintons. Win at any
cost. i have never contributed to a presidential election campaign,
but I am seriously considering a contribution to Obama's.

Desperate attacks from a desperate candidate
by scope213 January 7, 2008 10:15 AM PST
Clinton realizes shes slowly losing the lead as the Democratic nominee...so now she resorts to petty attacks because there is nothing her camp can find on Obama to use against him. Just pathetic...the same old politics from the old guard.

Fed do-not-call list doesn't restrict political solicitation calls!

From the Federal Trade Commission website: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm

"Are calls from political organizations or calls soliciting for charities covered?

Political solicitations are not covered by the TSR at all, since they are not included in its definition of ?telemarketing.? "

NH is a little different

New Hampshire law prohibits political solicitations to people on the do-not-call list, but apparently the presidential primary is excluded, making these calls permissable.
Robocalls a fact of life...

I am big on phone solicitation, and the Do Not Call list. All the candidates send out robocalls (which a completely bad taste), and send them to people on the Do Not Call list.

In fact, this is legal since not for profit and government entities are not restricted by Do Not Call:

From (http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm)

If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?

No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you?ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.

New Non-Partisan Political 'do not call' registry
by stoppoliticalcalls January 8, 2008 5:36 AM PST
These calls are an epidemic and are invading the privacy of All American Voters.

Our members are taking a stand and saying enough is enough at the National Political Do Not Contact Registry at StopPoliticalCalls.org.

Here is a quote from a member this morning:

"I find it very frustrating... I tend to get calls at the WORST time. I have a one year old daughter, and it NEVER fails that the phone will ring when I put her down for a nap or for bed. Also my vote is PRIVATE... so who do you think you are calling with a survey to find out who I am voting for!!! Stop calling me."
