I was the victim of ID theft. The only entity that has caused me any harm is the state of Indiana. Now five years after the fact, I am still fighting with those idiots. Here's my story:

I'm a healthcare provider and I received a letter from the CHAMPUS (insurance for the dependents of military personnel) stating that "unfortunately", a file with some of my clients names, addresses, socail security #s, date of birth, etc. had been "lost". They just wanted to reassure me that they were doing everything they could to recover it. What's this? Didn't Los Alamos Labs "lose" computer files with "nuclear weapons designs" a few years ago? Maybe we should say "of the computer, by the computer, for the computer" as it might be more accurate.
Not a good track record

Im not sure I want the Govts help. If a ID thief is a pro, I'd rather deal with it myself. Besides, Im sure they want to raise my taxes for helping.
