various misdemeanors that the courts penalize people for.
Is a speeding fine, meant to punish someone for endangering
the lives of others on the road, really 1000x less significant than
endangering the profits of a greedy, intolerant corporation?
Reading CNET's account of the jury deliberations, it seems they
were both out of touch and vindictive. They were also far too
easily persuaded by the RIAA's arguments. It sets a very bad
precedent going forward in the digital age.
This should be the sort of thing the EFF helps defend against.
