Uh -- GameCube was a flop?
by cpackham October 25, 2007 2:41 PM PDT
Just to make sure I understand what you're saying -- Microsoft lost money on every original XBox unit sold. Meanwhile, Nintendo made a profit on every single GameCube unit sold, and posted businesswide profits every single quarter during the lifespan of the GameCube. But the GameCube was a flop.

Economics is hard! It's like an Escher drawing printed on a moebius strip, and you can't tell if it's two faces or a vase!

Obviously you are some 360 fanboy. The Wii is crushing the 360 in sales, and it has been out a year less then your precious console. Microsoft may be able to bring in a couple more family friendly games, but that won't make much difference at all. The fact is, everyone is still wanting a Wii because they are in demand still, and people are getting rid of their 360's because of their sub-par production (see: red ring of death)

After all, blind hatred of Microsoft is fashionable in the Geek Community.

My hatred for M$ is all too clear and it makes me strong :) My hatred is based on facts. Fashion?...No. I am a geek though :)

I know this was written at the end of October so... Care to review it? Did M$ e-mail this to the author? It doesn't make any sense to me...at all!

It's looks like a giant joke, especially now. 360 take Wii-space? I don't think so

I'm sorry but I can't see how a few kids movies and games is going to turn the tide. Yes I hate M$. Yes I'm a Nintendo zealot. It wouldn't alter my stance if I wasn't. Casual gaming has been claimed by Nintendo. Stop imitating. Start innovating. Or just go away and give up now.

N already have enough crap to keep the kids amused
N are pulling in "the ancient" (as I like to call them)
N are bringing back the young adult (with assistance from VC)
N are creating a real social gaming hub

Package some arcade games with a diet core console if you want. Grab some cartoons too...

It's not going to help claw back space from Nintendo

Even the analyst with no bias can see that
