Short term?

For the myopic, Apple has been on the upswing since 1997 with a sustainable growth pattern and a gradually expanding business plan. An entire decade can't possibly be considered a period of "short, unsustainable growth." That said, Apple has hit some hiccups with their iPhone user base. But if the biggest complaints are the fact that Apple has dropped prices and are not supporting hacked products... well there's a point when people need to be reasonable. Benevolence has its limitations. As long as Apple continues to provide solid products with the kind of software/hardware integration they're known for, then there is no danger.

As for iTunes...

PS Amazon was able to get that kind of deal BECAUSE of Apple. In order for the service and the labels backing it to compete with the behemoth that is iTunes, they needed to provide incentives like DRM-free music and lower prices. Apple has been trying to get rid of DRM since the get-go, and now that Amazon has done it they might be able to manage it.

well according to me apple is the largest largest manufacturers of iphones and ipods. i do agree that when iphones arrived market, there is lot of great fans for Apple to stand in large queue for buying it. but, i don't know exactly why it suddenly lesses its cost of price for it products. Any way what ever company in the market either it is Apple or Amazon will have its leading position just because of people and its product's quality and features.

BWHAW HAW HAW HAW... :D

I have to laugh at all the 'love' being shared here. Talk about shills and scripts....

Do you all realize how ridiculously defensive you Apple fanboys all sound?

The iPhone isn't all that it's cracked up to be, plain & simple. It could stand some improvement like longer battery life as well as offering a version to other carriers like Verizon and Sprint. If they weren't so exclusive, there wouldn't be any need for hacks or workarounds

You also don't jack your customers over the price like Apple did so soon after the phone's introduction. That's the kind of greed I'd expect from Microsoft.
