This reminds me of the parental control software parents buy for their home computers. They don't know how to set the software up so they get their kids to set it up for them, then the kids know the password and simply disable it when they don't want to be followed.

It will be the same here, kids will just disable the GPS when they don't want to be followed.

I think that is WAY over the top, as a student myself( in college) now parents want to monitor their kids 24/7?
