Web sites launch all the time, but they also shut their doors. We highlight 15 that bit the dust this year.
Let the debate begin: Was the iPhone more important than iTunes? Was anything bigger than Google finding a great business model? CNET offers its list of the 10 most important stories of the '00s.

cancels my contract. By then, it will have most likely been cracked
so I can sign up with T-Mobile.
2. Too expensive.
3. Locked into a contract, phone not subsidized AND a $175 cancellation fee?? Yeah, right.
4. AT&T/Cingular.
them as a carrier for more than 10 years as their customer
service used to be horrible and the phone service was so-so. I
am only considering switching from Verizon because they don't
have decent price plans and I have a lot of interest in the phone
itself. Hopefully AT&T has better plans.
Actually, I thought it was funny when I got a call from a Verizon
service rep the other day asking if I was getting the most value
from my phone plan (changing plans extends your contract and
mine expires soon.) In almost 2 years nothing and now that I am
leaving... a courtesy call? Please.
The iPhone holds no interest other than looking good - by shiny isn't enough when the functionality is missing.
FULL but i would love a portable devise for tel, email, web, etc. I
had the first iPod at $499. but a short time afterwards they
improved it so much. So I would say I would buy one next year, or
revision 2 or 3.
like that most people have just voiced their opinion. Notice
though, that most of the trolling occurs when people make
stupid claims or requests.
As for the hype, Apple has only just RECENTLY started
coomercials for iPhone. Where does this talk of APPLE hyping the
product come from? Where does the dislike of the idea of APPLE
promoting its products come from? Its a little weird. Promoting
their products is what companies are supposed to do...
year when the dust has settled and the iPhone matured, I
can see myself taking the plunge.
Ideally Treo/Palm will get a kick in their rear-end and out
iPhone the iPhone
I will wait for something different. I think much of handheld tech has a ways to go.
phone , otherwise i have to wait until 2008 to get an iphone , YES ill
buy an iphone 1) coz i dont own an ipod 2) its been a while sence
i owned a touch screen device 3) i trust apple they're the best
my needs better than anything else out there and I've shopped
around, and have had MANY phones. It always makes me laugh
to see all of the Apple "haters" out there ripping the iphone up
one side and down the other... reviewing a phone thats not even
released yet, weird! If you don't like the phone then don't buy
it- just like the computer. Use the phone you enjoy and can
afford. I won't be standing in any lines to be the first to get it,
however I will be getting one.
I look forward to another great product made by Apple...
( I had to say that, so I will deserve the "Apple Fan Boy"
comments from the peanut gallery!) :)
Why did not apple put an micro sd card slot in it
month. If the data plan for the iPhone costs more than that, I'll
probably pass for a while. It's a cool phone, and I've been waiting
for a long time for it, but I just don't care to pay as much as my
home broadband for my "Edge" cellular network. I DO NOT think
the phone it overpriced though.
is exactly what I am paying now, I will definitely be in line for one. I
do however wish it had stereo bluetooth. What a dumb idea to have
a cutting edge video/audio player-cellphone and NOT use wireless
headphones. Especially since the technology isn't even NEW!
Oh well, it still rocks.
iPhone. It looks like a great product. I've been wanting a phone
that works with my macbook.

- I do want an iPhone. I am on my 3rd iPod. But I cannot justify the price of the iPhone. The main problem is the cancellation fee with my current provider. Also, I haven't had any problems with T-Mobile in the past year. And their customer service and connectivity is markedly better than Cingular/AT&T who I was with from 1998 until 2006. (I was with AT&T when they switched to Cingular and they charged me a changeover fee and I had it with them...now magically they are AT&T charging cingular customers changeover fees to AT&T...I hope they are enjoying that class action lawsuit)

Showing 4 of 42 pages (1025 Comments)The price of the iphone is crazy. Ok its a phone and it has limited internet access (java weak and no flash) and iPod. Ok I have a cell phone that I like. I have internet access on my blackberry (my sidekick had better internet than the iPhone) and I have a 6MP camera. I also have a 60GB iPod. Yes all my gadgets are not all one device and that is not cool. But by carrying all three on a trip is worth it to get movies, music, great pictures and great call quality. No pain no gain.
Oh and Mr. Jobs... visual voice mail. Umm I have that on a Cisco land line at work and my email can play my voicemails as audiofiles. It may be new on a cellphone but not worth $600. Also, I can play the email audiofiles on my blackberry.
And before anyone says that I am a whiner who cannot afford the iPhone, that is not the case. I am trying to be smart and get the best value and cool factor and efficiency out of my money.
I do want an iPhone. It looks really cool, but at this juncture it has too many drawbacks to even think about buying now. I defintely will not buy this version of the iPhone, but I would be interested in purchasing iPhone 2.0.
