Hi I am currently in the market for a new MP3 player and those are the 2 dominate choices so I was intrigued, I like the blind test on sound quality, but how about user friendly I've had an I-pod in the past, and know how easy it is to troubleshoot errors, but how about the Zune.

Hold out for Blu-ray

Most of us aren't in a hurry to buy any of these units just now. Here is confirmation that inexpensive Blu-ray players are on the way. In case you didn't know, Blu-ray has more exclusive studios supporting it -- so there are a lot more blockbuster movies you'll be seeing on Blu-ray that you'll never see on HD-DVD. Here is confirmation from Funai that inexpensive Chinese Blu-ray players are on the way:

Corrections ...

First up, it is unwise to assume that HD-DVD would "never see" the blockbusters you mentioned. If HD-DVD format did prevail (and this seems quite possible) then surely you don't think that the silly actions of the current BD exclusive Studios are going to continue to the profit detriment of their corporation? They'll start releasing movies on the format that prevails.
Secondly, as far as I know FUNAI is a Japanese company and their Blu Ray player will be $500 which is a far cry from the current $299 Toshiba AND only a mere $100 less than Sony and Panasonic players. IF I were in the market for Blu Ray, I would surely spend an extra $25-$100 for the Panasonic model over the Funai.
