My experience...

In my part of Utah, anyway, we do use touch-screen voting
machines, but they appear to generate a paper record as well. I
didn't find them particularly confusing, and the interface worked
well. In Florida, it seems, the only thing left to try would be some
sort of mind-reading technology!

You know nothing about Florida's situation

There is not a paper trail in the current touch screen voting machines in Florida. Only a select few counties use the "scantron" style voting machines. At least those have a paper trail.

The major problem in Florida is human corruption, i.e. Katherine Harris. Thankfully she is out of politics for now.

We may be idiots in Florida when it comes to voting, but at least we do not have multiple wives like Utah. One or none is quite enough.

The interface on the ones that I used in the last election were NOT confusing. I agree that they need a paper back up, but that's all they required. In my opinion, the people who couldn't use these machines need to take a special course to do this. They probably also need reminders to breathe.

The above thought is smart and doesn?t require any further addition. It?s perfect thought from my side.
