100k pink Zunes from Amazon in April???
by Foggy Dave May 2, 2007 5:22 PM PDT
Quote: "If you weren't one of the lucky 100,000 to grab a pink
Zune at Amazon during the limited run back in April..."

WHAT!? How on earth does c|net figure MS sold 100,000 pink
Zunes through Amazon alone in April? That is simply not
possible! If MS could sell 100k Zunes through any single channel
in a single month, they'd be in iPod territory. The pink Zune is
not even ranked on their best sellers list among MP3 players. No
way that happened. I'd be surprised if MS has sold more than
300,000 Zunes of all colors combined to date, total.

Yeah, not just Amazon, but others, also...

True, Zune probably (aka most likely) didn't sell 100k on Amazon alone. However, I do recall looking for one about two days after the product had gone on sale and Amazon was sold out of them and EB Games had them listed as "back-ordered".

Contrary to popular belief, Amazon sales are relatively tiny in terms of overall sales. I thought Amazon was larger, too, until I looked up the data myself.
OMG!

This has got to be the GREATEST thing to happen to the digital music industry ever!

I can not wait for Microsoft to work out the bugs in the blue paint!

For some odd reason, it just doesn't sound healthy to be "squirting"
from your pink zune ... anymore than it did to be "squirting" from
your brown zune.

In all honesty, I'm a little surprised that this zune thing didn't go
the way of the origami already. Anyone remember that thing (gee,
it was only what - a year or so ago)?
