A real thought
The point that these treads are missing is, NOT that you like Creatives Mp3 players or youre into the apple thing. Its about the fact that Creative came out with the technology way before Apple. Just because Apple has doped the general public into believing that the I-pod is something new and different doesnt mean that they came up with it. Anyone who has any knowledge of the rise of mp3s knows that the NOMAD was the first monster mp3 player in January 2000.

Creative had the players first and really arent hurting for business, so they are not try to save themselves but leaching money from Apple. Creative applied for this patent in January 2001. Let me say that again January 2001. They were granted it in August 2005 and are now perusing the rights. Apple even asked Creative in early 2001 if they could use Creative technology and Creative said no.

It is very frustrating reading comments from people that bought the I-pod because Apple told them to. I could rip on the I-pod all day but I wont, I just hope that Creative gets what they deserve, the money for stolen technology.

?????????
And Apple didn't use anything from Creative... end of story.
They developed their own technology. Apparently creative
thinks they are the inventor of the hirearchival navigation
interface. That is blatently false. Creative is just jealous that
they arent in the lead right now so they come up with this bogus
charge and then try to pursue it in court just so they can leech
off of someone instead of coming up with something truly
creative.

The Nomad used a laptop type hard drive and the ipod used a
microdrive from htachi. I have sen they display on both the
nomad and the Ipod... they are completely different.
This case will definately get thrown at as it should.

Creative has a patent, but Apple has prior art
Apple is fully protected and this will be thrown out real quick. It's
got to just be a publicity stunt or to make people think Apple stole
Creative's ideas. The end result will likely be an application by
Apple to have the patent reviewed and made void. Creative will
then be VERY much the loser here. Not that Creative's not already
the biggest LOSER around to begin with.

That's what a loser does
As someone who lives in Sinagapore, I understand why Creative takes such action of filing law suit against Apple, they are a loser even in their own home market. Instead of focusing the energy on developing a competitive products (which I believe the only thing Creative do well is the soundcard), they chose to spend time filing a law suit against the winner.

Get real!!! "CREATIVE" even apple loses this law suit, do you think you could have more market share? I doubt so, many other brands are offering a much more attrative products such as Samsung, iRiver etc.

I'm for one, even if apple never exist in the MP3 market, I would probably choose iRiver or Samsung against Creative not-so-creative MP3 player.

Remember that one? Oh, that's right, you were still in diapers when Apple LOST that suit. What a bunch of losers! Just because Microsofts underhanded business practices defeated them in the OS market share war, they had to go cry to the government!
