why would someone buy this as an add-on if it's only going to incriminate himself.

Why? Simple. To collect evidence. Imagine that you are a cop and you shoot a person who later sues, claiming abuse. If you have the video, you are in the clear. The law allows for self-defense, and proper use of firearms of all types. So if you discharge a weapon legally, stun-gun or bullets, you should have no problem recording the incident, as the recording will undoubtably serve as your defense in case you get sued......... right?
