Actually Apple has commented on this.
Phil Schiller was asked:
‘will Apple include a virtualization solution in [the next version of Mac OS X] Leopard.’ He said ‘absolutely not, the R&D would be prohibitive and we’re not going to do it. Our solution is dual boot.’

Now I wouldn't be too surprised if Apple bought Parallels, but I don't think they'll do that either.
Things can change, nothing is concrete.
I'm sure 3 or 4 years from now it wouldn't be as easy to hold them to their promise of no Virtualization software, because the reasons that prompted that stement is likely to change. Not so much so in a few months.

- Maybe they need to standalize their Power Machine names, so that no matter what hardware switch they make, people can follow the upgrades better.
