It would be really amazing, if it would be true, since the deal was cut this Thursday. Maybe it is
not nation wide, just some lucky places.

I just called my local store and checked the office deopt site. I can't seem to find a model at this price point. Was this a sale or is there some model that might not be listed or stocked yet?

I stopped in this past Sunday and only saw two Thinkpad models which were both well over a grand. The sales guy didn't know anything about a Thinkpad model priced at $699.

Correction on the price

The original story misstated the starting price of the ThinkPads. The ThinkPad Z60t wide-screen sells for $1999.99, and the ThinkPad T43 with biometric fingerprint readers goes for $1499.99.

Just stopped by an Office Depot in San Francisco on Sunday, 11/
06. Their reps hardly knew the difference between the different
series of thinkpads. I'm interested in a T43, but their model was
the same price as on the Lenovo site. Could you provide more

I found the prices to be the same as well, contrary to the article. That's what I was looking for clarification on. I've recommended the T42 to a few people, all whom are very happy.
