The Sims - RIP

It was fun.......until SecuROM disabled almost everything on my PC. The Sims franchise is being killed also. And EA is too stupid to realize that involving Sony really destroyed things.
EA ignore Simcity reason why it didn't sell more
by Randall Lind December 11, 2007 6:46 AM PST
EA hated SimCity from the start and now they killed it. The new SimCity is not the SimCity hard core SimCity fans wanted.

EA doesn't care they are more into the Sims and never gave SimCity the chance to become a hit.

Yeah, I never even heard of SCC.

It looks interesting, but way too complicated and way too processor-intensive for my current computer. But I'd never even heard of it before this article. And its website is anemic.

I agree... EA is not doing a good job with the SC franchise. I'd like to see SC5, with the ability to zone but also the ability for developers to propose development, and a state or county government to build highways. (You get limited input to where it cuts through your town but you get input into the on-ramps and off-ramps.)

And a better job of loading and unloading user-supplied content.

My fear was that the next version was going to be a monthly subscription version. And it still could be. Unfortunately, I don't play enough to even consider something like that.
