The table isn't really accurate since the Xbox 360 has 512MB of unified memory, while the PS3 has 256MB XDR + 256MB GDDR3 VRAM. Apples and oranges.

Memory part is misleading because XBOX 360 CPU & GPU share the 512MB of GDDR3. Sony has 256MB XDR, 256MB GDDR3, and 512MB GPU memory, so shouldn't it be 1GB memory on the chart. Not to mention XDR is more efficient than XBOX's 512MB GDDR3 memory.

Yeah, they totally forget about the 256MB of DDR 3 memory in the PS3 (aside from the other 256 MB). Shouldn't a company that owns Gamespot be a little more accurate when it comes to a simple thing like the most basic of specs for game consoles. I'm beginning to wonder if you can take anything this site says seriously.

If you have an HDTV, this is an issue you should also consider.

do a search for HDMI 1.3 and you'll see what I mean.

In the memory area, it doesn't tell you that 512Mb for 360 is total for system and video, and that its 256 mb for video and 256 mb for system in PS3.

Another thing is that the PS3 comes in to flavors - as reported in the BBC -

There is the "Game machine" without HDMI and memory ports (as in SD, CF, and memory stick), and the deluxe "Home Entertainment Hub" - which has all "the Works".

Obviously, slipping in a "trojan horse" in the form of Blu-Ray is not enough for Sony but observing how people opted for the "high end" 360 model, it's possible that Sony is banking on people to opt for the "Deluxe" model, rather than the "basic game machine".
