PlayStation speaks for its self!

Unlike Microsoft, which had to broadcast a 30 minute special on MTV, the PlayStation 3 speaks for its self! And as for you Xbox fans, looks like Microsoft has done a little monkey see monkey do with their Xbox 360 (Like making it stand vertically as the PS2 and now PS3 do). Don't get me wrong, I like both Xbox and PS, but I can't wait to get my PS3! As for Xbox 360, I'll get one eventually, but I just got my Xbox in December, so there's no hurry...

Im a HUGE Sony fan, but I still think you're thinking about this the wrong way. Microsoft has a different marketing strategy going on. Even though the MTV special, in my opinion, was a horrible introduction to the Xbox 360 it didn't need it because they know that without it they'd still get consumers to buy their product. I thought the MTV special was a waste of time and money. It did not introduce any real information about the Xbox 360 and if anything, it drove me to dislike it even more. That's aside the point... Microsoft isn't really copying anything of real importance. Making the Xbox stand sideways is too trivial a thing to compare to the PlayStation.

When I saw the XBOX 360 pictures and read the reviews on it, I was in shock. Could Sony have lost this time? Did Microsoft finally cease to win against us Playstation lovers? Or was there something I wasn't aware of? But Sony has been around for quite a while now, and they definitely know how to please their gamers, and keep us on our toes. Party Hard and Play hard, heres to the new Playstation 3! I almost **** my pants when the pictures and information on this beauty came out. Does any one know if XBOX 360 can play its original games? I love how Playstation keeps all their games functional on all their systems. SONY BLOODY ROCKS!

Bill Gates confirmed this past Saturday that the Xbox 360 will play "the Xbox's best games." This can be interpreted in one of two ways.
1) Emulation isn't perfect for the 360 and we can only count on it to play a handful of Xbox games, or
2) Bill is just playing it safe by not claiming 100% compatibility, since that's highly unrealistic. Even the PS2 couldn't play some PS1 games.

Which is it? Nobody seems to know quite yet.

It's all in the Marketing

For me, what it comes down to is I can't stand Bill Gates. He already rules the Computer world, why does he need to rule the Video Game world too. I have always been a playstation supporter. I will never buy an X-Box(any model) no matter if it is better than the Playstation(any model) or not. But thats my opinion. There is no point in arguing about personal preference.

I'm with you in regard to not buying Xbox because Microsoft has just gotten too big and I don't like the way they try to take over certain markets and muscle everyone else out. We've seen it happen over the years with web browsers, networking software, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.

Granted they may have won some of those battles by having better products, but I still don't like the way they've gone about it: infiltrate and destroy, using their huge financial reserves to develop and market products with the goal of owning and dominating the market.

I'll use my dollars to buy PS3 to get a superior system, and at the same time make a statement against Microsoft's repugnant manner of business.

Who cares about Bill Gates? It's us gamers who are lucky. We have two good systems to choose from here both are awesome. So don't buy an XBOX, your loss, I will enjoy them both!

PS2 Generation

Wow I jsut took a look at the new PS3 and I gotta say u guys kicked some serious ass into making it too, I mean a detachable hard drive, memory sticks, and finally wireless controllers. This kickass console is amazing, good job u guys, I hope to get one myself next spring, I'll be looking forward to see wut else comes into play, of the PlayStaion Generation.

PC vs Cell Processor

The XBOX2 is a PC. While the PS3 is Cell.

The PC throughout its 30 year history has never lost a battle. The PS3 will be HARD to program. The ps3 will loose the battle. PCs rule the game.

XBOX 360 is not a PC! its PowerPC (used by mac)

The XBOX 360 isn't a PC!!!, if anything its better compared to an Apple Mac.

The XBOX 360 uses 3 PowerPC CPUs at 3.2GHz.

The PS3 uses a PowerPC based CELL CPU at 3.2GHz.

It will be no harder to program for the PS3 as it will for the XBOX 360.

PS3 deff has the better specs, but will the games companies keep on the Sony Bandwagon? thats the big question.

I just need some clarification here... are you arguing that a personal computer, built with many functions in mind gaming not first among them, is going to be easier to develop for, even excel past, a system whose sole pupose is to run games... just wondering, seems like a hard position to argue.

Actually the "Ring Thing" is a rip off.

The "Ring Thing" is a direct rip off of the Ringworld in the Larry Niven book called oddly enough Ringworld. This book was first published in 1970, which is probably long before most people that play Halo were even born, so they think it is new and innovative.

Oh so beautiful

I like in what some would lable as a "Modern home". Lets not compare my abode to that of a celebrity, but alas, I do have a thing for beautiful techology. This, by far is the most beautiful, sleek, stunning console on the market in my opinion. The only thing I have to wonder, is. Will my old controllers fit? These ones do not have the contoured shape I have fallen in love with, the way it hugs my hand, is breathtaking when i think of it compared, to xbox, or the dreaded game cube controller. this new one, is sort of revolting, with its sharp ends, and slender hand grips. It somewhat deturs me from purchasing it, in all honesty. Though, the graphics, and so on shoud make up for it. Time will tell.

The playstation 3 is the best. Ever since the first playstation came out sony has been raking up money. sony put out about 4 or 5 different playstation systems and you punk a** people have the nerve to say it is ugly or the graphics aren't good.
