XBOX, so what?

Who cares about a new Xbox system? Why isn't the new Zelda for Gamecube mentioned? That's a bigger event than Xbox and a new system! Well, maybe it isn't, but I think it's more anticipated. I never thought game systems would have anything other than games, now they have music, dvd playback, etc. I have a DVD player for that. My Gamecube is used for it's main purpose, games. All other activites should be done on a DVD player such as music and movies.

why?

why would you want to go out and spend more money to buy another device just to play CDs? spend more money to buy another device just to play DVDs? then stack these devices up on top of each other so you'll have no shelf room left. then have to get a surge protector just so you can plug all these devices in at once. then go search among several other remotes just to find the one that will control the one function you want to operate.

the point of integration is cost savings, reduced footprint and shelf space, and most of all, simplicity. why NOT just have one system to do it all?

you're thinking backwards.
