the graphics look great, but i'm not sure what the touch pad is for.

I am sure you've now seen what the touch pad is for, but if not, it allows kids to send a written message with drawings to other DS users!!! Oh yea, it also allows you to choose your options and other contols with options. I like the text messaging part...no cell phones (but the monitoring of this worries me!!??!)!!

I was soooo pleased to read the article about 'mass' production of this new game system!! I also emailed Nintendo Customer Service and received a reply within 2hrs that they are shipping EVERY WEEK the 40% increase in production (1.4 million systems!) This means that my son just might have Santa delivery!!
