Great game - congratulations on shipping

We've been waiting on this for a while. My 7 year old son has been playing the Sims and Sim City before he could even read. As a parent I really appreciate that there are games out there that aren't built around violence. Congratulations to all the folks who spent many hours putting this game together. Can't wait to try it out myself.

I'd like to see the communities arising in the Sims map to the insights on clashes between value systems in Don Beck's "spiral dynamics" -- http://www.spiraldynamics.net/.

This could lead to interesting game play, and the emergence of epic story lines about trans-community interactions.

Creating your own objects in TheSims 2
by lookat May 20, 2007 12:01 PM PDT
I like the idea of creating new objects that the sims can use in their every day home or work environments. Is there some way to do this without taking a five year computer graphics course?
For example, I would like to create a paper shredder so the sim can shred his newspaper or a toaster so he can use to make a quick buttered toast with a glass of milk, and moreover there are many more objects that would be kind of interresting to obtain to incorporate in the game that is, I think it would be nifty, I miss not having the Pepsi machine that came with TheSims 1 for example and wonder how the grunt family gets to play using a back yard obstacle course. The idea of climbing a vertical ladder and moreover why not have the sim build his own house by using boards and nails and perhaps inviting a few neighbors over to help erect a house in exchange for pizza and pepsi? That's my 2 cents worth for now, thanks,
lookat :)
